An Arizona GameStop customer pulled a 1 BTC redemption card from a pack of Cardsmiths’ Currency trading cards, which came with a code to claim one full Bitcoin—worth nearly US$115,000 (A$174,800) at today’s prices.
“I didn’t think it was a serious possibility,” the anonymous collector told manufacturer Cardsmiths.
Cardsmiths’ Currency cards feature redemptions tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin, with the top prizes including 1 BTC and 1 ETH. Packs are sold for as little as US$13.25 (AU$20.15), with 1-in-192 odds of pulling a crypto redemption. So, at current BTC prices, that equates to a theoretical return of more than… well, 865,000%.
This marks at least the third full Bitcoin redemption in the past year. Earlier winners pulled 1 BTC from packs priced at US$33 (AU$50.16) and US$50 (AU$76).

Our lucky winner, who posts under the Reddit name decoparts, said they will keep only half the prize after pledging online to donate 50% of any crypto they found.
“I was documenting my pulls from a bunch of S4 Currency cards I had saved up, and I pledged that I would give half of the after-tax value to a charity, out of whatever crypto I found,” the user wrote. “Boy, was I in for a lesson on backing up my promises and putting my money where my mouth is.”
While the Series 4 Currency packs are now sold out, Cardsmiths’ SPACE Series still includes full Bitcoin redemptions. Packs are available for as little as US$13.75 (AU$20.90) on the company’s site, though odds remain steep at 1 in 192.
