Aragon is proud to be providing the custom services that will power Status Network’s pre-deposit vaults. This is the first major milestone toward launching Status L2, the first gasless, shared-yield Ethereum layer 2.
By providing this custom build for Status L2, Aragon continues to reinforce our commitment to building open, transparent, economically robust, and user-sovereign infrastructure for the Ethereum ecosystem.
Pre-deposits vaults will allow Status L2 users to contribute liquidity through Karma before mainnet goes live. Karma is Status Network’s non-transferable reputation token that users earn for contributing real value to the L2. It determines how many free, gasless transactions a user gets and how much influence they have in governance, including how shared yield is allocated across the ecosystem.
Status Network is developing an Ethereum L2 designed to remove gas fees, enable private onchain interactions, and reward participants through a shared-yield system rather than transaction fees. Built on the Linea zkEVM stack and integrated with the Status and Logos ecosystems, key features of the Status L2 network include:
In addition to these features, pre-deposit vaults powered by Aragon will allow users on Status L2 to contribute capital in a non-custodial, transparent, and highly efficient way that directly seeds the network’s shared-yield pool and liquidity foundation leading up to mainnet launch.

Pre-deposit vaults built by Aragon are fully transparent, with all code released under CC BY 4.0 and AGPLv3, and support integrations with staking and lending strategies that generate yield for Status Network’s shared pool.
Using Aragon OSx and modular governance components, these vaults will be deployed on Ethereum L1, and on Linea for select assets, ensuring secure, non-custodial, and future-proof infrastructure aligned with Status Network’s principles.
Aragon’s vaulting system provides secure, permissioned workflows with flexible guardian and recovery mechanisms, built on a clean separation of roles, permissions, and execution. This architecture not only enhances security and operational governance, but also boosts capital efficiency by ensuring every deposited asset is put to work immediately through yield-generating strategies.
The pre-deposit period begins this month, with Status L2 mainnet and initial Karma distribution planned for early 2026.
Status Network is pioneering a new type of Ethereum L2 that’s gasless, privacy-forward, and economically sustainable, while Aragon is advancing modular governance systems and capital management through pre-deposit vaults. Together, we’re building infrastructure that strengthens user sovereignty and capital efficiency, expanding what’s possible on Ethereum.
Aragon will continue to deliver open-source governance tooling and vault infrastructure as Status Network moves through its pre-deposit phase and prepares for mainnet. More updates and technical documentation will be released as components ship publicly. And watch out for GUSD, a native yield-generating stablecoin that will serve as the native dollar for Status Network
