PayPal deposits and withdrawals are now available for Australian customers

Australian customers can now deposit and withdraw Australian dollars using PayPal. If you’re already a PayPal user, you can fund your CoinJar account with your existing PayPal payment methods such as bank account and card.

A more flexible way to fund your account

We know customers want choice when they fund their account. Alongside our existing PayID, bank transfer, Visa and Mastercard options, PayPal offers a familiar deposit experience for anyone who prefers to manage their payment methods in one place.

Fees and what to expect

  • Deposit fee: 0.5%. Withdrawals back to your PayPal wallet from crypto sales are free.
  • First deposit only: a 7-day reserved balance applies. Subsequent deposits clear immediately once the initial period has passed.
  • PayID and bank transfers remain free with no reserved balance.

How it works

  1. Go to Deposit or Transfer and select PayPal.
  2. Enter your AUD amount and confirm.
  3. Log in to PayPal to complete the payment securely.

Once confirmed, your funds will be available in your CoinJar account. If you need help, our Help Centre has step-by-step instructions.

What this means for you

This integration is designed to make funding your account simpler, particularly if you already keep your primary card or bank account linked to PayPal. It reduces the need to enter card details directly and gives you a clear record of deposits inside your PayPal wallet.

As always, PayPal deposits can be used to buy cryptocurrency on CoinJar, move funds into CoinJar Bundles, or simply hold a fiat balance until you’re ready to trade.
