BNB Chain Tokenized Stocks Top $5B As RWA Equity Trading Accelerates

BNB Chain tokenized stocks have topped $5 billion in cumulative trading volume, marking another milestone for onchain equity markets as real-world asset products move from passive issuance into active trading.

The activity is led mainly by Ondo Global Markets, with BNB Chain also hosting xStocks after its April expansion brought more than 50 tokenized U.S. equities and ETFs to the network. The combined market gives users onchain exposure to public-market assets through products that can trade, transfer and route across crypto infrastructure.

The milestone shows how quickly tokenized equity demand is moving beyond a single chain. Solana has already seen record activity after tokenized equity volume reached a reported $380 million in 24 hours, led by xStocks and Backpack/Sunrise-linked products. BNB Chain is now pushing the same category through a different route, with stablecoin liquidity, DEX access and RWA integrations sitting inside the same ecosystem.

The $5 billion print also follows Ondo’s move to open 24/7 minting and redemption for selected tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs on Ethereum and BNB Chain. That upgrade gives eligible users a broader primary-market route for assets such as SPYon, QQQon, CRCLon, NVDAon, TSLAon and GOOGLon while keeping secondary-market trading available onchain.

Ondo And xStocks Push Different Equity Models

The BNB Chain volume is important because tokenized stocks are not one uniform product. Ondo Global Markets and xStocks both bring public-market exposure onchain, but their structures, eligibility rules, redemption paths and investor rights differ.

Ondo’s products are total-return trackers designed to follow underlying public securities, including dividend treatment after applicable deductions. xStocks products are tokenized representations connected to underlying equities and ETFs held through regulated custody arrangements. In both cases, users need to understand whether they receive economic exposure, direct ownership, voting rights, dividends, redemption access or only secondary-market liquidity.

That difference matters as these assets enter DeFi. A token that looks like a stock ticker in a wallet still depends on issuer terms, market-hours pricing, custody structure, oracle design, eligible jurisdictions and whether the token can be used in lending, collateral or portfolio tools.

BNB Chain’s advantage is distribution. The network already has large stablecoin balances, active DEX liquidity and a user base familiar with low-cost trading. Tokenized equities can therefore enter a live capital environment instead of sitting only on an issuer page or a limited brokerage-style front end.

RWA Equity Race Moves Across Chains

The tokenized-stock race is now spreading across several market layers. Solana has become a fast trading hub for xStocks and SpaceX-linked products. BNB Chain is building around Ondo, xStocks, stablecoin capital and DEX routing. Public markets are also getting exposure from the other direction after StablecoinX began Nasdaq trading under USDE, giving equity investors a listed vehicle tied to stablecoin infrastructure.

That cross-market activity shows how RWA products are moving in both directions. Traditional assets are being issued and traded onchain, while crypto-native infrastructure companies are reaching public exchanges. Tokenized stocks sit directly in the middle of that shift because they translate familiar equity exposure into blockchain-based settlement and transfer rails.

The risk is that trading volume can grow faster than user understanding. Tokenized stock holders still need to read product terms around redemption, backing, dividends, voting rights, transfer restrictions, issuer risk and jurisdiction limits. A liquid onchain market does not automatically make a token identical to holding a share through a traditional broker.

BNB Chain’s tokenized-stock market has now crossed the $5 billion cumulative-volume threshold, with Ondo Global Markets driving most of the activity and xStocks expanding the network’s equity-token menu. The next test is whether that volume turns into deeper liquidity, broader asset support and useful DeFi integration beyond spot trading.
