CoinJar brings 0% trading fees to US customers

Buy, sell and convert cryptocurrency without a CoinJar trading fee, using prices derived directly from the CoinJar Exchange order book.

Trading fees can significantly affect how much cryptocurrency you receive. A platform charging 1.49%, for example, collects $14.90 on a $1,000 trade before accounting for the execution price or any other charges.

CoinJar offers eligible US customers a more direct approach: 0% trading fees with order-book-based pricing.

What 0% trading fees means

CoinJar charges no trading fee when you:

  • Convert USD to cryptocurrency
  • Sell cryptocurrency for USD
  • Convert one cryptocurrency to another
  • Buy cryptocurrency with ACH, or from a CoinJar USD account funded by wire transfer
  • Set up a Recurring Buy funded from your CoinJar USD account

Pricing based on a live market

A 0% trading fee matters, but it is only part of the picture. The price used to execute your trade matters too.

CoinJar’s pricing is derived directly from the CoinJar Exchange order book. Buy prices reflect the available asks—the prices at which market participants are willing to sell—while sell prices reflect the available bids.

This is what we mean by market-true pricing: a price based on executable market orders rather than an indicative reference rate.

As with any live market, the difference between bid and ask prices can vary by cryptocurrency, market conditions and transaction size. CoinJar shows your complete quote before you trade.

What could a 1.49% fee cost?

Trade amount Fee at 1.49% CoinJar trading fee
$100 $1.49 $0
$1,000 $14.90 $0
$10,000 $149.00 $0

These figures compare trading fees only. The final amount received also depends on the quoted execution price.

Compare the complete trade

When comparing cryptocurrency platforms, look beyond the advertised fee. Review:

  1. The trading fee charged for the transaction
  2. The quoted execution price, including the natural bid-ask spread
  3. Funding and withdrawal fees
  4. Blockchain network fees when transferring cryptocurrency externally
