Crypto ETF News: Bitcoin ETFs Rebound as Jane Street, Harvard Buy

Today's tape had more going on beneath the surface than the headline numbers suggest.

Bitcoin ETFs bounced back with a strong inflow day, Ethereum stayed modestly positive, and XRP funds sat completely still, again.

Layered on top: two fresh institutional disclosures and a report on just how big the US ETFs market has become.

Global market cap sat at $2.19 trillion, up 0.49% on the day, per CoinMarketCap. The CMC20 index, which tracks the top 20 cryptocurrencies, rose 0.79% to $131.19.

Liquidations came in hot, at $210.85 million over 24 hours, up 89.28% from the prior day. Bitcoin traded near $64,278, up 1.21%.

Ethereum held close to $1,898, down a fraction. That backdrop set the stage for a busier-than-usual day in crypto ETF news.

Key Takeaways

  • Bitcoin ETFs added $137.32 million, led by Fidelity's FBTC with $111.90 million, while several major funds stayed flat.

  • Ethereum ETFs pulled in a smaller $4.95 million, with Fidelity's FETH doing most of the work.

  • XRP ETFs recorded a flat $0.00 day across all five tracked issuers for a second straight session.

  • Jane Street disclosed over $1 billion in US spot Bitcoin ETFs holding as of June 30, mostly through BlackRock's IBIT.

  • Harvard University disclosed a $101 million Bitcoin ETFs position in its Q2 filing.

Bitcoin ETF News: FBTC Leads a Broad-Based Rebound

Bitcoin trades at $64,278.11 today, up 1.21%, per CoinMarketCap data. Market cap sits near $1.29 trillion.

Per SoSoValue's US BTC Spot ETF's tracker, Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $137.32 million. Cumulative net inflow now stands at $51.93 billion. Total net assets sit at $77.41 billion, about 2.36% of Bitcoin's market cap.

Among the largest issuers by net assets, most saw an inflow:

Issuer

Flow

Fidelity (FBTC)

+$111.90M

Ark & 21Shares (ARKB)

+$14.18M

Morgan Stanley (MSBT)

+$11.24M

Unlike a typical day led by BlackRock's IBIT, this round of inflows was carried almost entirely by Fidelity's FBTC, with Ark's ARKB and Morgan Stanley's MSBT adding smaller contributions.

Several major funds, including Grayscale's GBTC, sat completely flat.

Ethereum ETF News: A Modest Green Day

Ethereum trades at $1,898.24 today, down 0.02%, per CoinMarketCap data. Market cap sits near $229.08 billion.

Per SoSoValue's US ETH Spot ETF's tracker, Ethereum ETFs saw a net inflow of $4.95 million. Cumulative net inflow holds at $11.46 billion. Total net assets sit at $10.59 billion, about 1.90% of Ethereum's market cap.

Only one fund did the heavy lifting:

  • Fidelity (FETH): +$4.27M

  • BlackRock (ETHA), VanEck (ETHV), Grayscale ETH and ETHE, Bitwise ETHW: little to no net movement

Ethereum's ETF's flows stayed positive but thin, a quieter day compared to the swings seen in Bitcoin funds.

XRP ETF News: Silent Again Across Every Fund

XRP trades near $0.9977 today, down 0.5%, testing the closely watched $1 support level, per CoinMarketCap data.

Per SoSoValue's US XRP Spot ETF's tracker, XRP ETFs recorded a flat $0.00 net flow for the day. Cumulative net inflow stands at $1.51 billion. Total net assets sit at $934.04 million, about 1.48% of XRP's market cap.

All five tracked issuers, Bitwise's XRP, Franklin's XRPZ, Canary's XRPC, 21Shares' TOXR, and Grayscale's GXRP, showed zero movement again today.

XRP spot ETF net inflow totaled $225 million over the past week, meaning this stretch of flat daily prints hasn't yet erased the broader weekly trend.

Institutional Snapshot: Jane Street and Harvard Disclose Big BTC ETF Bets

Beyond daily flows, two institutional disclosures stood out in today's crypto ETF news:

  1. Jane Street disclosed more than $1 billion in US spot BTC ETF's holding as of June 30, with roughly $828 million invested in BlackRock's IBIT and the remainder spread across Fidelity's FBTC and Grayscale's GBTC, according to its SEC 13F filingThe positions are ETF's share rather than direct Bitcoin ownership. Jane Street had sharply reduced its Bitcoin ETF's exposure during Q1, before its IBIT holdings surged back to 24.9 million shares.

  2. Harvard University disclosed a $101 million Bitcoin ETF holding in its Q2 filing.

Separately, a market structure report highlighted just how large the broader US ETF industry has grown: the market is up over 500% in 10 years to $15 trillion, with nearly $1 trillion in inflows during the first half of 2026 and another $193 billion in July.

Leveraged ETFs were the fastest-growing category, with nearly 300 launched this year and retail investors accounting for 90% of trading volume in that segment.

Over 900 new ETFs have already launched in 2026, a pace that could push the year-end total past 1,400.

What's Next in Crypto ETF News?

BTC inflows just posted their strongest showing in a while, led by a fund other than IBIT for once. Ethereum stayed positive but small.

XRP remains stuck at zero for a second straight day, even as weekly totals stay positive.

Watch whether Jane Street's renewed IBIT position and Harvard's disclosed BTC ETF stake encourage more institutional filings this earnings season.

Whether XRP funds break their flat streak, and whether Bitcoin's broader base of inflows beyond IBIT holds up, are the threads worth following next.

Analysis: Today's spread of inflows across FBTC, ARKB, and MSBT, rather than concentration in a single issuer, suggests demand for Bitcoin ETFs may be broadening rather than resting entirely on BlackRock.

Combined with fresh 13F disclosures from Jane Street and Harvard, institutional appetite for Bitcoin exposure through looks intact even as XRP funds stay dormant.

These patterns are short-term and can shift quickly with new data in crypto ETF news.
