FinTech’s Reward: Backing from BBC Dragon Touker Suleyman

16-Sep-2025

Dragons’ Den star Touker Suleyman has thrown his weight behind customer engagement platform Reward, striking a partnership that brings his clothing brand Hawes & Curtis into the company’s global retail network.

Reward, which connects banks and retailers via its commerce media platform, says the deal will give Hawes & Curtis access to more than 10 million active customers and billions of transaction data points.

By blending spending data with contextual insights, the FinTech’s tools aim to predict shopper behaviour, personalise campaigns and link marketing exposure directly to purchases.

The partnership will allow Hawes & Curtis, also headquartered in the capital, to reward loyal customers, attract new audiences and boost sales both in-store and online.

The news comes less than a week after it was reported that the company could be in the running to buy the UK arm of fashion accessories chain Claire’s out of administration.

“Every CEO is scrutinising spend now – on marketing, on warehouses, on distribution – nothing is off the table,” said Suleyman.

“All roads lead to data – it’s one of the most valuable assets a business owns, but only if you use it to maximise customer value.

“With Reward’s 10 million customers on tap, we can segment, reaching the right people to grow our business. They’re helping us expand both online and in-store, and eventually internationally.”

Reward CEO, Jamie Samaha, added: “I’ve long admired Touker, his ability to spot opportunities and really understand what makes retail work.

“Today, I’m proud to welcome him and his iconic brand Hawes & Curtis, as strategic partners. There’s no better validation than having the ‘King of Retail’ recognise Reward as leading the way in using data to drive profitable growth.

“Our job is to put the power back into retailers’ hands – helping them mine insights, target smarter, and make better marketing and investment decisions.”
