Rumble Group (RUM) shares soared nearly 20% in overnight trading following a report by The Information that identified Anthropic as the mystery AI client in its six-year, $13.7 billion computing services contract. The stock opened with strong gains Monday morning but later surrendered a portion of the advance as shareholders weighed dilution risks.

With a market capitalization hovering around $3.55 billion as of Monday’s session, the stock had been mired in a five-day decline before the news broke. A sustained move higher would have represented the company’s strongest single-session gain in more than 16 months.

RUM made its entry into AI infrastructure last June by acquiring Northern Data, a German cloud computing provider, in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $767 million. The acquisition brought roughly 22,000 Nvidia Hopper GPUs into RUM’s portfolio and led to the creation of its AI infrastructure division, now branded as Quake AI.

Anthropic will utilize computing resources from a data center facility located in Maysville, Georgia, which remains under development. The location currently has 120 megawatts of power capacity available, with plans to scale up to 180 MW in the future.

Under the terms of the arrangement, Anthropic received an option to buy up to 51 million RUM shares at a nominal price of $0.01 each. This equity component has attracted significant attention from market participants evaluating the deal’s implications for shareholder value.

Quake AI Powers Revenue Expansion

RUM CEO Christopher Pavlovski has been vocal about his vision for Quake AI. The business unit is presently operating at over 85% capacity, and Pavlovski has indicated that 250 MW of deployed infrastructure could produce upwards of $3 billion in annual revenues.

These ambitious forecasts received support from RUM’s latest quarterly results. The company delivered record-breaking revenue of $40.4 million last month, marking a 61% increase year-over-year and significantly exceeding Wall Street’s consensus estimate of $30.66 million.

Rumble’s video platform, which has gained traction among conservative users and hosts President Donald Trump’s Truth Social content, reported 57 million monthly active users in the second quarter. However, investor focus has increasingly shifted toward Quake AI’s growth trajectory.

Shareholder Dilution Concerns Cap Rally

The initial rally faced headwinds as the session progressed. RUM shares gave back gains when investors turned their attention to the company’s strategy of acquiring the outstanding Northern Data stake through newly issued shares, sparking anxiety about ownership dilution among current stockholders.

The pullback also reflected broader weakness in Trump-related investments and profit-taking after RUM’s substantial August surge.

The company continues to report net losses and negative cash flow. Given the capital-intensive nature of its AI infrastructure expansion, any construction setbacks or softer-than-anticipated demand from Anthropic or other clients could strain its financial position.

RUM’s year-to-date returns stand at approximately 13.45%, with typical daily volume around 3.54 million shares. Technical indicators currently suggest a Hold rating for the stock.
