Big Kraken Krak Card news landed on August 18, 2026: the KrakCard, a Visa debit card from Kraken's parent company Payward, officially launched in the United States, letting users spend directly from over 600 assets, including USD, Bitcoin, and USDC, while earning cashback in real dollars or Bitcoin.
This marks Krak's first US rollout after building a base of over 125,000 cardholders across the UK and Europe since its November 2025 launch.

According to Kraken's official announcement, the card is built around three core features:
Up to 2% cashback in US dollars or Bitcoin on everyday spending, paid as real money right after the transaction settles, not points
No hidden fees, no monthly fees, no annual fees, and free ways to deposit
600+ currencies to spend from, with users able to choose the order their balances are used at checkout and which assets stay untouched
The card comes in two standard tiers, orange or black, with users able to work their way up to qualify for the Krak Metal Card.
Setup is designed to be near-instant: the card can be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay the moment it's issued, letting users tap to pay before the physical card even arrives.
The KrakCard is issued by Lead Bank pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc., with Stripe powering the underlying technology, and it runs on the Visa network, meaning it works essentially anywhere a standard Visa card is accepted.
Kraken notes the card can be used across 200+ countries, at over 150 million merchants, with access to more than 2.5 million ATMs. Importantly, its clarifies that Krakcard is a financial technology company, not a bank, and account balances are not Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or SIPC-insured.
The launch is backed by Kraken's own consumer research. A Morning Consult survey conducted on Kraken's behalf between July 2 and 5, 2026, among 2,001 US adults found that 64% of respondents said they're frustrated with credit card rewards, mainly because points expire or are hard to redeem, and 57% said they'd rather have cash land directly in their account.
The Card is designed to directly answer that frustration: no points to track, no rewards that expire, and cashback paid as real money the moment a purchase settles.
Unlike traditional rewards credit cards, the Card works entirely with money users already hold.
Kraken's own survey found that 42% of credit cardholders said they've worried about paying off their balance at month's end, and 60% said they'd switch to a card offering real rewards without requiring them to borrow.
This reflects Kraken's broader push to expand beyond trading, with products such as Kraken crypto options adding more financial tools to its ecosystem.
Beyond everyday cashback, it's Concierge unlocks up to 6% back on travel, including discounts of up to 60% at more than 2.2 million hotels, with cashback applied automatically at checkout.
This latest Kraken Krak Card news positions the card as just one part of the broader Krak-App experience.
Users can also send money to friends and family instantly, earn yield on holdings, and access Krak Concierge for travel bookings, all from the same account.
The card is available to eligible US residents only and is not available in all states.
This Kraken Krak Card news marks a significant US expansion, bringing a fee-free, multi-asset crypto debit card with real cashback rewards to American users for the first time.
Backed by Lead Bank, Stripe, and the Visa network, and building on a track record of 125,000+ cardholders in the UK and Europe, the card's US debut signals Kraken is positioning everyday spending, not just trading, as a core part of its product strategy going forward.
