Lee argued that Bitcoin could climb to $140,000 in the short run, driven by its potential to capture a larger slice of gold’s $14 trillion market. In his view, if BTC achieves even 10% of gold’s valuation, the milestone is within reach.
Stretching the scenario further, he added that Bitcoin’s ceiling could one day exceed $2 million per coin should it rival or surpass gold as the world’s dominant store of value.
Ethereum, according to Lee, has room for even more explosive gains. He outlined a path toward $22,000 for ETH if two key conditions align: Bitcoin rallying to $250,000 and the ETH/BTC ratio returning to its historic peak near 0.087.
Even without those extremes, Lee maintains a year-end target that places BTC between $200K and $250K and ETH in the $10K–$12K range.
BitMine itself is reinforcing this outlook with significant treasury moves. The company disclosed last week that it had added nearly 235,000 ETH – valued at just under $1 billion – to its reserves.
This purchase brings its total stash to 2.65 million ETH, worth roughly $11 billion, representing more than 2% of Ethereum’s circulating supply. The firm has ambitions to eventually hold as much as 5% of the network’s supply, underscoring its conviction in ETH’s long-term role in global finance.
Lee’s predictions often split opinions between skeptics and believers, but the combination of BitMine’s massive accumulation and his bullish price calls highlights the growing institutional narrative that digital assets are not just speculative instruments, but long-term strategic holdings.
