MoonPay, a fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure provider, has entered into an ecosystem partnership with Tempo, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on payment applications. Under the agreement, MoonPay has integrated support for USDC.e and PathUSD across its Ramps and Virtual Accounts services, while Tempo has designated MoonPay as an official onramp provider for its network.
The integration introduces MoonPay Headless as a native funding option within Tempo Wallet, enabling users to convert fiat currencies such as dollars and euros into digital assets directly through debit cards or bank transfers without leaving the application. This creates a direct path from traditional banking rails into Tempo’s asset environment, eliminating the need for external exchanges, manual bridging, or token swaps.
Tempo, incubated by venture firm Paradigm and payments company Stripe, is architected for high-throughput settlement use cases including merchant payments, payroll processing, and cross-border transfers. The network employs stablecoin-denominated gas fees, allowing users to cover transaction costs using stablecoins rather than volatile native tokens. Additionally, Tempo features a built-in decentralized exchange that handles asset conversions natively without routing through external protocols. The network recently launched its public testnet, placing the partnership in an early but strategically timed phase of development.
The collaboration positions MoonPay’s infrastructure as a ready-made funding layer for developers and businesses building on Tempo. Through Ramps and Virtual Accounts, ecosystem participants can access fiat-to-stablecoin pipelines that support wallet funding, treasury movement, and payment settlement directly on the network.
MoonPay has previously executed similar integrations with Hyperliquid, targeting active traders, and Deel, focusing on global payroll and contractor payments. The Tempo collaboration extends this strategy toward merchant and institutional settlement workflows, reflecting a broader effort to reduce friction between conventional banking and blockchain-based payment systems.
Tempo’s native stablecoin, PathUSD, functions as a core settlement asset on the network. By incorporating PathUSD into its virtual account infrastructure, MoonPay enables new users to acquire the token directly through conventional payment methods rather than navigating secondary markets. Combined with USDC.e, an Ethereum-linked variant of Circle’s USDC, the expanded asset support provides businesses and end users with additional options for holding and settling value within a stablecoin-native environment.
The integrations are currently live across MoonPay’s Ramps and Virtual Accounts services.
