Are you a Filipino Earth Observation (EO) or Remote Sensing (RS) specialist with a strong commitment for environmental protection and disaster risk reduction, looking for the next challenge? Are you already working for the government on these topics and want to broaden your expertise? The EU CopPhil Scholarship programme might be for you!
The European Union’s (EU) Copernicus programme, and CopPhil, a flagship initiative of the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy, is proud to announce the launch of the EU CopPhil Scholarship Programme for advanced studies in Earth Observation and Remote Sensing, implemented by a Stantec-led consortium.
Fully sponsored by the EU, this programme is open to Filipino citizens working in government agencies, including the Philippines Space Agency (PhilSA), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DSHUD), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
With a focus on climate change, natural resources, and disaster management, the programme is designed for individuals committed to pursuing a master’s degree in EO/RS. Aligned with the EU’s priorities in green economy, education, and digital infrastructure, this scholarship aims to boost the use of Copernicus data to improve governance and policymaking in the Philippines.
Note: The scholarship covers costs up to €33,500; additional expenses are the applicant’s responsibility.
