Tempo Integrates BlackRock’s BUIDL Fund To Expand Institutional Tokenized Asset Infrastructure

Public payment blockchain Tempo has announced the integration of BlackRock‘s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, known as BUIDL, into its network. The move marks a significant expansion of Tempo’s infrastructure for institutional stablecoins and tokenized assets, bringing a Moody’s AAA-mf rated digital fund directly onto the blockchain platform.

Through this deployment, qualified users on Tempo gain the ability to maintain stablecoin balances while accessing yield via tokenized fund shares. The integration is designed to serve companies developing wallets, treasury management solutions, and global payment applications on the Tempo network. Their end users can now convert idle balances into yield-generating instruments without exiting their existing onchain workflows.

BUIDL represents BlackRock’s primary tokenized short-term treasury fund. It offers qualified investors exposure to returns denominated in U.S. dollars through fund shares that are collateralized by cash reserves, U.S. Treasury bills, and repurchase agreements. The introduction of BUIDL on Tempo broadens the availability of institutional-grade yield products operating on infrastructure specifically engineered for high-volume, low-cost, and compliant financial transactions.

The technical implementation of BUIDL on Tempo relies on Securitize’s tokenization and transfer agent infrastructure. Daily onchain valuation updates and interest accrual mechanisms are supported by data feeds from RedStone oracles. This arrangement ensures that fund pricing and yield calculations remain transparent and current for all participants.

Traditional Finance and Blockchain Infrastructure Edge Toward Convergence

The integration signals a wider trend of convergence between regulated financial instruments and blockchain-native payment systems. Market participants across the tokenized finance sector continue to investigate methods for linking traditional investment products with stablecoin-based settlement and transfer infrastructure.

Tempo has positioned itself as a payment-centric blockchain platform supporting stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and real-world financial operations. With BlackRock’s entry into the Tempo ecosystem, the network intends to advance its onchain yield offerings for institutional clients requiring rapid transaction speeds, programmable functionality, regulatory compliance, and access to familiar financial products.

Industry observers note that the collaboration reflects growing institutional interest in combining conventional asset management with distributed ledger technology. As tokenized treasury products become more widely available on public blockchains, the boundary between traditional finance and digital asset infrastructure continues to narrow. Tempo’s integration of BUIDL follows this trajectory, offering institutional participants a regulated pathway to earning yield within a blockchain environment built for scalable payment activity.
