Shares of Definium Therapeutics (DFTX) experienced a sharp rise of nearly 20% during Monday’s premarket session following the company’s disclosure of successful topline data from the Phase 3 Panorama clinical trial evaluating DT120 ODT, an LSD-derived therapeutic candidate designed to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

The biotechnology company’s shares have appreciated nearly threefold year-to-date, propelled by increasing attention from both regulatory bodies and investment communities toward psychedelic-derived treatment modalities.
The Panorama clinical trial successfully achieved its primary endpoint alongside all designated secondary efficacy measures. Study participants administered a single 100-microgram dose of DT120 ODT demonstrated a 9.8-point reduction in Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) scores following the 12-week treatment period. In contrast, the control group receiving placebo experienced only a 4.7-point decline.
The placebo-adjusted difference measured 5.1 points, corresponding to an effect size of 0.64.
Particularly noteworthy is the rapid onset of therapeutic action. Statistically significant efficacy differences emerged as early as the second day post-administration and persisted consistently throughout the entire study duration.
The Panorama trial represents the third consecutive positive Phase 3 outcome for DT120 ODT in the company’s development program. The preceding Voyage study in GAD was disclosed in August, while the Emerge trial evaluating major depressive disorder was reported in June.
Chief Executive Officer Robert Barrow emphasized that securing two successful GAD trials strengthens the evidentiary foundation regarding the drug’s mechanism of action—a critical consideration for regulatory authorities. He highlighted that approximately a dozen pharmaceutical programs have unsuccessfully sought FDA approval for GAD treatment over the preceding two decades.
Generalized anxiety disorder impacts approximately 26 million adults across the United States and is conventionally addressed through antidepressant medications, anxiolytics, and various psychotherapeutic interventions.
The 245-participant Panorama investigation incorporated a 50-microgram dosage arm, strategically designed to mitigate functional unblinding risks—situations where participants accurately deduce their treatment assignment based on the drug’s characteristic effects. Across both dosage levels, participants demonstrated the ability to correctly identify active treatment versus placebo.
The 100-microgram dose demonstrated superior therapeutic efficacy relative to the 50-microgram cohort, which Barrow indicated simplifies regulatory discussions moving forward.
The safety and tolerability profile remained consistent with observations from previous clinical investigations. The majority of treatment-emergent adverse events were characterized as mild to moderate in severity, transient in nature, and predominantly manifested on the dosing day.
Overall study discontinuation rates demonstrated remarkable similarity: 10.4% among the DT120 ODT cohort compared with 10.3% in the placebo group.
Examining more than 1,000 treatment sessions conducted within the Phase 3 program through September 10, 2026, approximately 97% of study participants satisfied end-of-session discharge criteria within eight hours.
Definium has secured a pre-NDA consultation appointment with the FDA scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 and projects submitting a comprehensive New Drug Application during the initial half of 2027.
