Ripple has boosted its partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity becoming one of the first crypto organisations to make a donation to the charity in crypto.
In 2024, Ripple contributed more than £60,000 in XRP, a major milestone for digital asset philanthropy in the UK.
The move followed an earlier £100,000 pledge to support the construction of the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Ripple has also sponsored the “Love GOSH” gala for two consecutive years, helping raise nearly £2M across 2024 and 2025.
To facilitate crypto donations, GOSH Charity worked with Ripple and Zodia Markets to address regulatory considerations.
Donations in digital assets are converted into pounds using the Zodia platform, ensuring compliance with local regulations when it comes to managing donations and asset conversions.

By accepting crypto, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity aims to attract more international donors and reduce any frictions that are tied to foreign exchange donations.
Chris Carter, Head of Partnership Development at GOSH Charity:
“We’ve developed a strong and ever-growing relationship with Ripple over the past few years and we’re very appreciative that they have become our first ever donor via cryptocurrency.”
Ripple’s donation will hopefully be the first of many we receive from the crypto community, and it will be vital in helping GOSH Charity continue to give seriously ill children the best chance, and the best childhoods, possible.”
Recent industry data show that crypto donations rose above $1 billion in 2024, with growing institutional adoption across major charities due to the ease of crypto.
Beyond the UK, Ripple is has also supported agricultural resilience in Kenya with close collaborations at Ripple.
Through partnerships with Mercy Corps Ventures and DIVA Donate, Ripple leveraged the XRP Ledger to deliver stablecoin-based charity and insurance to small farmers facing climate-related risks in the region.
