Ripple, the company behind stablecoin-powered cross-border payments infrastructure, has announced the launch of Ripple Mint, a unified platform designed to streamline how institutions access, mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD). The move signals a deliberate shift away from manual workflows toward scalable, automated infrastructure as stablecoins increasingly embed themselves into trading, payments, and treasury operations.
Ripple Mint is structured around two complementary access models: a user interface for operational oversight and programmatic integration via APIs for system-level automation. This dual approach allows institutions to interact with RLUSD according to their internal workflows, whether through a web console or direct integration into existing infrastructure. The platform enables users to mint and redeem RLUSD directly, bridge assets across supported blockchains, and track funds throughout the entire transaction lifecycle.
New API functionality and real-time webhook notifications provide programmatic access to transaction status queries, account balances, and key lifecycle events such as fiat receipt, mint processing, onchain settlement, and payout completion. Consistent reference IDs across both fiat and blockchain transactions aim to reduce manual reconciliation efforts and enhance end-to-end visibility. Existing RLUSD customers can transition to the new platform without operational disruption, retaining the same compliance and security standards.
Beyond workflow automation, Ripple Mint arrives alongside a significant multichain expansion of RLUSD, underscoring Ripple’s broader strategy to position the stablecoin within institutional finance and decentralized ecosystems alike. RLUSD, initially issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, is now available on the XRPL EVM Sidechain as well as Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain.
The XRPL EVM Sidechain serves as a strategic anchor, combining Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility with connectivity to the broader XRP ecosystem. This architecture allows RLUSD to participate in DeFi composability across multiple chains while directing value back to XRP Ledger infrastructure.
The expansion is designed to increase RLUSD accessibility across exchanges, DeFi protocols, payment applications, and emerging onchain financial infrastructure. Ripple emphasizes that XRP will function as a complementary asset for liquidity, settlement, swaps, collateral, and payments across supported chains as RLUSD adoption broadens.
Regulatory credibility remains a central pillar of this strategy: RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, LLC, a trust company chartered by the New York Department of Financial Services. By combining regulated issuance with programmatic flexibility and multichain availability, Ripple is positioning RLUSD to serve as infrastructure for institutional stablecoin operations while reinforcing the long-term utility of XRP within digital asset markets. Ripple Mint is available to existing RLUSD customers immediately.
