Serviceaide has agreed to a $1.8 million class action settlement to resolve claims stemming from a 2024 data breach that allegedly exposed patients’ sensitive personal information.

The settlement covers individuals whose information was compromised during a cybersecurity incident that occurred between Sept. 19th and Nov. 5th, 2024.

Serviceaide provides AI-powered digital solutions and works with organizations including Catholic Health, a New York-based healthcare system.

According to the lawsuit, the data breach exposed data for 480,000 people, including their Social Security numbers, medical records and health insurance details.

The plaintiffs alleged Serviceaide failed to implement reasonable safeguards to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.

Under the settlement, eligible class members can receive compensation for losses tied to the incident. Those with documented expenses related to the breach may seek reimbursement of up to $5,000 for costs such as fraudulent charges, bank fees, credit monitoring services and professional expenses.

Those who did not incur documented losses may instead qualify for an estimated cash payment of about $50. Class members can file a claim using this portal.

Individual payments may increase or decrease depending on the number of valid claims submitted.

Serviceaide denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation.

The deadline to submit a claim is Sept. 1st, 2026. Requests for exclusion or objections must be filed by Aug. 17th, 2026, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for Sept. 16th.
