Sky Price Prediction: Is SKY Coin a Good Investment?

Sky price predictions remain sharply divided as the token approaches its second full year of trading. As of August 27, 2026, SKY trades at $0.069, following a 24-hour gain of about 1%; during the previous 30 days, it moved between $0.05068 and $0.07047. The token has gained approximately 19% over that month and 15% over seven days, so its recent direction is positive even though it remains well below its December 2024 record.

Forecasts attract attention because SKY inherited MakerDAO’s governance role and now sits at the center of the USDS stablecoin, the Sky Agent network, staking rewards, and a protocol-funded buyback system. However, SKY has traded only since September 2024, and every Sky coin forecast depends on uncertain assumptions about regulation, adoption, token supply, governance, liquidity, and the wider crypto market. The figures below are model outputs, not promises.

Sky (SKY) Overview

Sky Protocol is an Ethereum-based financial protocol that evolved from MakerDAO, one of decentralized finance’s earliest lending and stablecoin systems. Maker announced the Sky identity on August 27, 2024, and introduced the SKY governance token and USDS stablecoin on September 18, 2024. The change formed part of Rune Christensen’s Endgame plan, which aimed to make the ecosystem easier to use and divide capital-allocation activity among specialized Sky Agents.

SKY has replaced MKR as the protocol’s sole governance token. Holders can stake SKY, vote directly, or delegate voting power to another participant. Legacy MKR can still be converted at a nominal rate of 1 MKR to 24,000 SKY, although a delayed-upgrade penalty introduced in September 2025 reduces the amount received by late converters. The official rate was subject to a 4% penalty from June 4, 2026, making migration timing a relevant supply consideration.

USDS is the protocol’s dollar-targeting stablecoin and the upgraded counterpart to DAI. Users can create or obtain USDS, move it onchain, or supply it to the Sky Savings Rate module and receive sUSDS. The value of sUSDS increases relative to USDS as the governance-set savings rate accrues, while collateral and protocol revenue support the wider system.

Sky.money provides a non-custodial interface for swaps, savings, staking, borrowing, and governance. SkyLink extends supported token routes beyond Ethereum through approved bridges and Layer-2 deployments, reducing the cost of using ecosystem assets where integrations are available. Sky Agents such as Spark and Grove then allocate capital under risk limits set through governance.

The ecosystem therefore combines stablecoin issuance, collateralized lending, savings products, governance, and onchain capital allocation. SKY’s long-term value depends less on its name change and more on whether these services attract sustainable USDS demand while maintaining adequate liquidity, reserves, decentralization, and risk controls.

Sky (SKY) Features

Sky runs through open-source smart contracts on Ethereum. Users interact from self-custody wallets, meaning they approve transactions themselves rather than depositing funds with the protocol operator. Liquidity pools and Peg Stability Modules support exchanges between USDS and approved stablecoins, while collateralized positions allow users to borrow under governance-defined risk parameters.

SKY holders can stake tokens to participate in governance, obtain eligible staking rewards, and access SKY-backed borrowing modules. USDS serves a different purpose: it is the stablecoin used for transfers, liquidity, and borrowing. sUSDS represents USDS supplied to the savings module, while stUSDS is an expert-oriented product that funds SKY-backed borrowing and carries a different risk profile.

The Sky Atlas acts as the ecosystem’s governance handbook. It defines major scopes, processes, responsibilities, and the relationship between Sky Core and independent Agents. This layered structure can support specialized development, but it also makes governance harder for beginners to evaluate and can concentrate practical influence when voter participation is low.

SKY is not a privacy coin. Ordinary Ethereum transactions remain publicly visible, even if third-party applications or future integrations use zero-knowledge technology for selected functions. Users should not interpret references to privacy-preserving infrastructure as a guarantee that SKY transfers are confidential.

SKY Price Chart

SKY Price Chart

CoinGecko, August 27, 2026

2017 – The Early Days of MakerDAO’s MKR

MKR entered the market in 2017 while decentralized lending was still experimental. It started at relatively low prices, moved toward $30 by November, and finished the year near $40. The advance established MakerDAO as an early project to watch within Ethereum’s emerging financial ecosystem.

2018 – Boom and Crash

The 2018 speculative cycle initially pushed MKR sharply higher, with prices approaching $900 in January on the original series. The subsequent crypto bear market reversed most of those gains, and MKR fell below $200 by December. This period showed how strongly governance tokens could react to broad market liquidity.

2019 – Slow Recovery

MKR spent much of 2019 between roughly $300 and $700. DeFi adoption continued gradually, but the token did not repeat its previous speculative surge. The relatively stable range suggested that MakerDAO was retaining users even when enthusiasm for the wider crypto market remained limited.

2020 – The DeFi Summer Surge

DeFi became one of the market’s dominant themes in 2020. MKR rose from around $500 at the beginning of the year and approached $1,400 during the summer before retreating toward $700. The rally strengthened MakerDAO’s position as important infrastructure for onchain lending and stablecoins.

2021 – Record-Breaking Rally

MKR reached its historic peak near $6,300 in May 2021 as demand for DeFi governance assets accelerated. The market then cooled, and MKR ended the year in the $2,000 to $3,000 area. The move remains the clearest example of how quickly Maker-related valuations can expand and contract during a crypto cycle.

2022 – Turbulence and Uncertainty

Macroeconomic tightening and several crypto failures weakened risk appetite in 2022. MKR moved through a broad range of approximately $600 to $1,600 and finished near $900 on the chart used by the existing article. The decline reflected pressure on DeFi tokens even when their underlying protocols continued operating.

2023 – Post-Crisis Struggles

The market remained cautious after the failures of FTX and other centralized companies. MKR often traded in the $600 to $800 region, although it periodically recovered above $1,000. Those rebounds showed continued interest, but uncertainty across the crypto sector limited sustained momentum.

2024 – Rebrand to Sky and the MKR to SKY Migration

MKR began 2024 near $1,700 and climbed above $4,000 during the first half before giving back much of the rally. On August 27, MakerDAO announced its transformation into Sky, and on September 18 users gained the option to upgrade DAI to USDS and MKR to SKY at 1:24,000.

SKY then developed its own market history, moving through a volatile launch period before reaching $0.1005 on December 4, 2024. The rebrand announcement is the key dividing point between converted MKR history and directly traded SKY data.

2025 – Endgame Rollout and Pullback

The first full calendar year of SKY trading produced a wide range. Historical data places the year’s low near $0.0368, the high near $0.0997, and the December close around $0.0577.

Sky expanded its Endgame structure, launched programmatic token buybacks in February, and received an S&P Global B- issuer credit rating with a stable outlook in August. The rating increased institutional visibility but also highlighted depositor concentration, governance, and capital risks, while the token ended the year well below its peak.

2026 – What Happened So Far

SKY traded between approximately $0.0486 and $0.0899 from January through moment of writing. It reached the upper end of that range in late April, then fell toward its yearly low in late June as altcoin liquidity weakened.

Fundamental news was stronger: Sky reported record first-quarter revenue, governance prioritized a $150 million reserve target in March, and an August executive vote increased the frequency of SKY buybacks. The recovery accelerated during August, bringing SKY back to $0.069 by August 27, still about 24% below its 2026 high.

Short-Term Sky Price Targets

This short-term Sky crypto price prediction compares current models from CoinCodex, WalletInvestor, and MidForex. They cover August 28 through September 2026 and show why near-term Sky price predictions should be treated as changing scenarios rather than precise targets.

SKY Price Prediction Today and Tomorrow

SKY’s immediate trading area is approximately $0.067 to $0.0703, equal to a change of about -2% to +3% from the current price. CoinCodex places August 28 near $0.06854, or -0.5%, while support at $0.06703 and resistance at $0.07025 define the nearest decision points.

A sustained move above $0.07025 would strengthen the short-term bullish case. A loss of $0.06703 would expose $0.06526 and weaken it.

SKY Price Prediction for This Week and Next Week

For the remainder of this week, the model-based range is roughly $0.0526 to $0.0703, corresponding to -23% to +3%. CoinCodex expects weakening momentum into September 1, but this path would be invalidated if SKY holds above $0.07025 and Bitcoin and Ethereum continue rising.

For next week, the nearest monthly model suggests $0.0519 to $0.0556, or -24% to -18%. That bearish range should not be treated as certain because a broad-market rally could keep SKY above it.

Sky Price Prediction for the Next 30 Days

CoinCodex’s September band is $0.05194 to $0.05558, averaging $0.05376, which implies -24% to -18% and an average return of -21%. WalletInvestor is less bearish at $0.05905 to $0.06936, with a $0.06408 average and returns from -13% to +2%.

MidForex is the bullish outlier, projecting $0.0582 to $0.0847 and an average of $0.0715, or -15% to +24%.

Across these services, the combined 30-day span is $0.0519 to $0.0847, while the mean of their average targets is $0.06311, or -7%. Looking toward December 2026, their total range widens to approximately $0.0499 to $0.0848, showing that even models using similar historical data can reach very different conclusions.

Sky Price Prediction 2026

Most of 2026 has already passed, and SKY’s actual $0.0486 to $0.0899 range provides a useful check on the remaining models. CoinCodex expects $0.04703 to $0.06854, equal to -31% to -0.5%, and averages $0.05221. BitScreener is wider at $0.02447 to $0.09126, or -64% to +34%, with a $0.04783 average. OKX’s single estimate is $0.06836, approximately unchanged from the current price.

The combined 2026 average is $0.055 (-20%). A finish near the upper end would require SKY to hold its August recovery, remain above $0.067, and benefit from continued buybacks and favorable altcoin liquidity. Renewed selling across Bitcoin, Ethereum, or DeFi could pull the token toward the lower model cluster.

Sky Price Prediction 2027

OKX presents the conservative scenario at $0.071778, or +5%. BitScreener’s range is $0.03877 to $0.1093, equivalent to -43% to +60%, with a $0.09716 average. CoinCodex is the most volatile model, ranging from $0.04975 to $0.1882, or -27% to +176%, and averaging $0.09937.

The combined average is $0.09 (+30%). Values above $0.1 would probably require stronger USDS demand, expanding protocol revenue, and a supportive crypto cycle. Weak governance participation or lower stablecoin growth could keep SKY much closer to its current price.

Sky Price Prediction 2028

CoinCodex estimates $0.06473 to $0.1262, or -5% to +85%, with a $0.09455 average. BitScreener gives an unusually broad $0.005291 to $0.1184 range, equal to -92% to +74%, while averaging $0.0804. OKX supplies a more restrained point estimate of $0.075367, or +11%.

Together, the source-level averages produce $0.08 (+15%). The extremely low BitScreener floor should be read as a stress scenario, not the central expectation. Continued stablecoin adoption and a healthier DeFi market would be necessary for SKY to approach the upper targets.

Sky Price Prediction 2029

CoinCodex models $0.06688 to $0.09959, which represents -2% to +46%, and an average of $0.07475. BitScreener is more bullish, with $0.05974 to $0.1464, or -12% to +115%, and a $0.1159 average. OKX projects $0.079135, corresponding to +16%.

The combined average reaches $0.09 (+30%). A result near the high end would require Sky to convert protocol growth into durable token demand, while stagnant USDS supply or stronger competition could hold SKY near the conservative forecasts.

Sky Price Prediction 2030

The 2030 Sky price prediction is particularly dispersed. CoinCodex forecasts $0.08757 to $0.1615, or +29% to +137%, with an average of $0.1117. OKX’s single estimate is $0.083092, or +22%. BitScreener reports $0.0008077 to $0.1175, equal to -99% to +73%, but its $0.09552 average is far less extreme than its stress-case minimum.

The combined table therefore gives $0.000808 to $0.1615, with an average of $0.1 (+45%). Reaching the upper scenario would require substantial USDS and sUSDS adoption, profitable capital allocation by Sky Agents, reliable smart-contract execution, liquid exchange markets, and a favorable regulatory environment. Competition from Aave, Ethena, centralized stablecoins, and new tokenized-dollar products remains an important constraint.

Sky Price Prediction 2035

OKX projects $0.10605, or +56%. BitScreener supplies a much wider $0.0000516 to $0.2308 range, corresponding to approximately -100% to +239%, with a $0.09234 average.

The averages produce $0.1 (+45%). The enormous spread says more about model uncertainty than likely precision. By 2035, governance, supply rules, regulation, and even Sky’s role in DeFi may look materially different.

Sky Price Prediction 2040

CoinCodex models $0.2621 to $0.3857, or +285% to +466%, and averages $0.3104. BitScreener ranges from $0.009979 to $0.3235, or -85% to +375%, with a bearish $0.01217 average. OKX’s point estimate is $0.13535, equal to +99%.

The combined result is $0.00998 to $0.3857, averaging $0.15 (+115%). At today’s circulating supply, the $0.3857 maximum would imply a market capitalization near $9 billion. That is possible only if Sky remains relevant for another 14 years, and it is far from guaranteed.

Sky Price Prediction 2050

CoinCodex publishes the highest current scenario, $0.6947 to $0.9891, or +920% to +1,352%, with an average of $0.8434. BitScreener estimates $0.05368 to $0.4961, or -21% to +628%, and averages $0.4941. OKX gives a single $0.22047 estimate, corresponding to +224%.

The combined range is $0.05368 to $0.9891, with an average of $0.5 (+620%). The top value implies a circulating market capitalization of roughly $23.2 billion. Mathematical models cannot reliably predict technology, token supply, regulation, adoption, or investor demand over 24 years, so this range is a speculative scenario rather than a target.

Sky Price Prediction: What Do Experts Say?

Expert analysis of Sky focuses on financial resilience, governance, and protocol cash flow rather than a precise SKY future price. In August 2025, S&P Global Ratings assigned Sky Protocol a B- issuer credit rating with a stable outlook. The agency recognized the protocol’s liquidity and history of limited credit losses, but the speculative-grade rating reflected concentrated depositors, centralized governance influence, weak risk-adjusted capitalization, and exposure to smart-contract and market risks.

The stable outlook assumed that Sky would preserve adequate liquid buffers and limit loan losses. S&P also indicated that stronger depositor diversity, capitalization, and decentralization would support credit quality. Those issues remain relevant in 2026, particularly because low voter turnout can give large holders disproportionate practical influence.

External DeFi governance has also tested confidence. An Aave proposal to remove USDS as collateral and raise reserve factors passed and was executed on December 23, 2025. Its authors cited low profitability and a changing risk profile. The decision did not remove USDS from existence, but it showed that integrations depend on the independent risk decisions of other protocols.

The fundamental data improved in early 2026. The Sky Ecosystem Q1 report recorded $123.79 million in gross protocol revenue, $46.04 million in net surplus, $13.03 billion in collateral, and approximately $11.7 billion of USDS and DAI supply. Governance also redirected more surplus toward a $150 million solvency reserve rather than maximizing near-term distributions.

By June, reported reserves had reached $82.5 million and cumulative buyback deployments had crossed $120 million, according to the June financial update. An August 13 governance proposal, executed on August 17, increased buyback frequency and directed 55% of each cycle toward SKY purchases, with 45% allocated to a staking farm. These developments support the bullish case, but they do not remove stablecoin, governance, credit, or regulatory risk.

SKY USDT Price Technical Analysis

This Sky technical analysis uses the Investing.com SKY technical page, which showed a Neutral overall signal on the monthly timeframe.

SKY USDT Price Technical Analysis

Investing, August 27, 2026

The detailed moving-average panel was bullish, with twelve buy signals and no sell signals. The oscillator panel was mixed: RSI stood at 51.831 and remained neutral, while the standard Stochastic reading of 52.368 and CCI of -30.7254 also showed balanced momentum. These values indicate that the monthly market was neither clearly overbought nor oversold by those measures.

MACD produced a buy signal at 0.012, and Bull/Bear Power was also positive. However, Stochastic RSI reached 100 and showed overbought conditions. The Ultimate Oscillator at 47.268 and Rate of Change at -14.794 generated sell signals, while ATR at 0.0213 pointed to high volatility.

The signals therefore conflict. Price remains above the displayed monthly moving averages, but momentum has not confirmed a decisive long-term breakout. One technical snapshot cannot guarantee direction, especially for a token with a short trading history.

Sky Market Sentiment

CoinCodex reported 84% bullish and 16% bearish technical votes on August 27, 2026, while the wider Crypto Fear and Greed Index stood at 71, indicating Greed. This short-term sentiment is more optimistic than Investing.com’s neutral monthly summary, which shows how signals can differ across methodologies and timeframes.

Sky Key Price Levels

The following near-term levels come from the current classical pivot model and align with recent trading around $0.069. The broader monthly structure places an additional central pivot near $0.058, so daily levels are more relevant for immediate trades while the monthly pivot matters if volatility expands.

LevelPriceInterpretation
Pivot point$0.0685Near-term balance level
Support 1$0.067First area where buyers may respond
Support 2$0.065Secondary pullback support
Support 3$0.064Strongest immediate support
Resistance 1$0.07First breakout test
Resistance 2$0.072Confirmation level
Resistance 3$0.073Strongest immediate resistance

A sustained break above $0.073 with stronger volume would support a move toward the monthly resistance near $0.076. Failure at $0.07 could keep SKY inside its current range. On the bearish side, a close below $0.064 would shift attention to $0.058 and then the 30-day low near $0.0507.

Popular SKY Moving Averages and Oscillators

The table uses Investing.com’s monthly timeframe. MA5 therefore means five monthly periods, not five trading days.

For beginners, the table describes a bullish price position but mixed momentum. Neutral RSI, Stochastic, CCI, ADX, and Williams %R readings reduce the evidence for an immediate monthly breakout, while the overbought Stochastic RSI and negative Rate of Change warn of possible consolidation.

The long-period simple averages need extra caution. SKY has not traded for 50, 100, or 200 months, so those values may be distorted by limited historical data and should not be interpreted like equivalent averages for a mature asset.

Correlation: SKY vs BTC and ETH

Over the seven days ending August 27, 2026, SKY’s measured correlation was 0.907 with Bitcoin and 0.919 with Ethereum, indicating strong positive short-term relationships. Its 0.905 correlation with BNB showed a similarly broad altcoin-market connection.

Across the top ten non-stablecoin assets, the index was lower at 0.564, while the top-100 index was 0.604. SKY also reacts to DeFi and stablecoin-sector events because USDS demand affects protocol activity. These relationships can change quickly during market stress, governance votes, MKR migrations, buybacks, exchange listings, or project-specific announcements.

What Does the Sky Price Depend On?

The price of SKY depends on both protocol fundamentals and the wider crypto market. The most important project-specific driver is demand for USDS. Higher stablecoin issuance, borrowing, savings deposits, and productive deployment by Sky Agents can increase protocol revenue and make governance more economically relevant. Weak USDS growth would reduce that support.

Other major factors include:

  • Governance outcomes: Votes determine collateral limits, savings rates, reserves, incentives, buybacks, and Agent risk parameters. Poor decisions or slow responses can damage confidence.
  • SKY buybacks: Protocol surplus can fund open-market purchases. Buybacks reduce liquid supply or redistribute tokens to stakers, but their scale depends on future revenue and governance choices.
  • Migration and supply: MKR conversions add SKY to circulating markets, while the delayed-upgrade penalty changes how much late converters receive. Governance changes to token economics would also affect valuation.
  • Ecosystem growth: Adoption of USDS, sUSDS, stUSDS, Sky Agents, SkyLink routes, and third-party integrations can increase activity and liquidity.
  • Market liquidity: SKY tends to follow Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the altcoin market. Thin order books can amplify both rallies and sell-offs.
  • Regulation: Rules affecting stablecoins, DeFi interfaces, rewards, and regional access can help institutional adoption or restrict user growth.
  • Competition: Aave, Ethena, centralized stablecoin issuers, tokenized money-market funds, and other lending protocols compete for capital and users.
  • Concentration risk: S&P highlighted a small depositor base and centralized governance influence. Low voter turnout can allow a small number of holders to shape key decisions.
  • Execution and security: Smart-contract failures, collateral losses, bridge problems, oracle errors, or poor Agent performance could reduce trust even if the wider crypto market remains strong.

Technical indicators can influence short-term trading, but long-term SKY value ultimately depends on whether protocol revenue, reserves, user demand, and governance quality improve together.

What Will Sky Be Worth in 10 Years?

A ten-year horizon reaches 2036. Current long-range models suggest a central area near $0.1, with much wider bullish and bearish possibilities depending on Sky’s continued relevance.

Is Sky Coin a Good Investment?

SKY may interest investors who understand volatile DeFi governance assets and believe USDS adoption, protocol revenue, and buybacks will grow. Its short history, concentration, regulation, competition, and smart-contract risks make it unsuitable for risk-averse beginners.

Is Sky Money Safe?

Sky.money is non-custodial, so users retain control of their private keys. This reduces custodial exposure but does not remove smart-contract, governance, collateral, oracle, wallet, or regulatory risk.

What Is the SKY Coin Prediction?

Short-term models place SKY between $0.0519 and $0.0847, while the combined 2030 average is $0.09677. Distant models are more speculative, reaching a $0.51932 average for 2050.

Will SKY Coin Reach $0.1?

SKY needs a 47% gain to reach $0.1, implying a circulating market capitalization of about $2.34 billion. Several 2027 and later models exceed this level, but stronger adoption would be required.

Will SKY Reach $0.5?
