StealthEX instant crypto exchange hosted an AMA session with Lukso, represented by Craig, Lukso Developer Relations Lead & Communications Manager.
Q1: Can you list 1 to 3 killer features of this project that make it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your project has that you feel the most confident about?
Craig: Lukso stands out because it reimagines Web3 not just as a financial layer, but as a social, creative, and identity-driven ecosystem.
We’re building the first chain that treats identity, not tokens, as the foundational layer.
Q2: How does Lukso contribute to empowering creators and artists through its platform? What role do you see Lukso playing in shaping the future of the creative economy?
Craig: Lukso re-architects ownership, identity, and interaction.
Lukso shifts creators from relying on algorithms and middlemen to owning their distribution, monetization, and identity.
Q3: One of the most exciting things about Lukso is its introduction of LSP standards, which power universal profiles, NFTs 2.0, and programmable ownership. Can you explain how these standards differ from Ethereum ERC standards and why are they better suited for digital identity, creative economies, and interoperability across multiple applications?
Craig: Lukso is Ethereum-compatible but innovates through LSPs. Unlike rigid ERC-20/721, LSPs are modular, extendable, and metadata-driven. They allow assets and identities to evolve and react.
Fabian Vogelsteller, Lukso’s co-initiator, co-authored ERC-20, and LSPs are designed to move beyond finance-first limitations. They enable social value, reputation, and programmable identity. LSPs focus on people and creators, not just tokens.
Q4: I would assume that the onboarding process and the entire system has to be very user-friendly. How seamless would the process be for me, for example, if I’m an artist with little web3 experience?
Craig: Our goal is to be the “Apple of Web3.” While we’re not there yet, we’re iterating toward intuitive design. Next month, we’re launching a Token Generator designed for creators, DAOs, and brands to mint tokens without needing deep technical knowledge. Iteration and user feedback will get us closer to Apple-level usability.
Q5: Universal profiles let users carry their identity, assets and data across the apps seamlessly. How do you see this transforming the way people interact with decentralized applications compared to the fragmented account-based systems we have today?
Craig: Today, every dApp treats you like a stranger. With universal profiles, one on-chain identity acts as your passport. Apps can recognize you instantly, adapt to your preferences, and interact seamlessly.
This enables smart social accounts—upgradable, reactive, and composable. Features like LSP1 (reactive on-chain logic) and LSP26 (follower system) allow automated on-chain interactions, such as rewarding followers directly.
Q6: For many newcomers, the requirement to buy a native token just to pay gas fees is counterintuitive. With LSP25 enabling gasless transactions, how transformative do you see this for mainstream adoption?
Craig: LSP25 introduces relayers that sponsor transactions, removing the burden of gas. This strips out complexity and creates app-like, seamless experiences. Users can onboard without ever touching exchanges or buying gas tokens first.
This is essential for scaling to millions of mainstream users in gaming, social apps, and creator platforms.
Q7: How does Lukso integration of both on-chain and off-chain data contribute to its ability to offer precise insights into user behaviors and digital assets? Could you elaborate on the specific algorithms or technologies used to achieve this level of detail?
Craig: Lukso enables hybrid identity systems. On-chain metadata (via LSP2) allows expressive identity and social discovery. Off-chain data can also be referenced flexibly.
Projects like Profile Jump showcase this: indexing rich metadata to create a social block explorer. This approach makes blockchain more than a ledger—it becomes a living, searchable graph of digital identity and ownership.
Q8: Does the collaboration between StealthEX and Lukso leverage the recent $LYX listing to expand the tokens liquidity and what strategic partnerships might further accelerate its integration into the global crypto exchanges?
Craig: The StealthEX integration is valuable because it enables no-custody, no-registration swaps, reducing friction for new users.
Additionally:
This broadens liquidity and accessibility while encouraging new developers and creators to join.
Q9: With Universal Profiles already live since November 2023 and over 20,000 created by mid-2024, how are you measuring real-world adoption? Any standout use cases?
Craig: Metrics we track:
Success isn’t just numbers—it’s expressive, programmable digital identities with real-world utility.
Q10: With the emphasis on the new Web 3, how is Lukxo planning to integrate with emerging trends like decentralized AI or metaverse to position itself beyond just Ethereum tooling compatibility?
Craig: Universal Profiles are an AI-ready identity infrastructure. With permissioned key management (LSP6), AI agents can autonomously act within profiles without compromising user control.
This makes Lukso machine-friendly, interoperable, and ideal for AI and metaverse contexts—gluing together otherwise siloed digital worlds.
Q11: What is your current roadmap status? Has Lukso been successful in reaching all your roadmap targets? Can you give a brief roadmap update?
Craig: The roadmap has been winding. Mainnet and Universal Profiles are delivered, and a major technical update (bridge launch) is arriving now.
Looking ahead:
Q12: Given that cross-chain bridging often introduce high gas costs, how does the solidity package execution to make to representation efficient and scalable for frequent use and also, how is state consistency guaranteed between Ethereum and Lukso when bridging tokens, especially in cases of network congestion or res that might affect finality?
Craig: We don’t build bridges; we use them. Gas costs depend on congestion of origin/destination chains. State finality and security are responsibilities of bridge providers. Alternatively, StealthEX swaps avoid bridges entirely.
Q13: Technology tokens, and how do they plan to utilize it to create a sustainable and scalable ecosystem for their users while also ensuring the security and transparency of transactions within the network.
Craig:
Tokens on Lukso (LSP7 & LSP8) go beyond financial speculation. They enable provenance, transparent creator-to-collector connections, social capital, and composable experiences. The native token (LUX) remains the commodity gas token, but the real innovation is in LSP-based programmable tokens.
Q14: Do you have an ambassador program?
Craig: Yes. It’s called The Luminaries. Managed by community head Natasha Fon. The second cohort was recently onboarded, and a third is expected in the future.
Craig: Thank you for the partnership and to the StealthEX community for the questions. You can create your own Universal Profile at Universal Everything—completely gasless to start exploring Lukso. Don’t be a stranger, reach out, and experience what our ecosystem has to offer.
StealthEX: Thank you all for joining today!
