According to Ripple, the feature introduces flexibility for developers and supports more complex transaction flows without compromising the integrity of the ledger.
The RippleX performance team ran a series of simulations to measure how Batch Transactions affect throughput, consensus latency, and system resources.
Tests were carried out in several modes — including “All or Nothing,” “Only One,” “Until Failure,” and “Independent” — to assess response times and detect possible bottlenecks. A key benchmark was maintaining a 5-second consensus time even under heavy transaction loads.
Results showed that overall ledger throughput remained unaffected by the addition of Batch Transactions. However, packages containing up to eight subtransactions were found to create noticeable strain on transaction processing capacity.
Ripple noted that this effect should be factored into performance planning for future implementations.
If adopted, the feature could open the door to a wider range of on-chain capabilities for XRPL, while preserving the network’s current performance standards under most conditions.
