CFTC Ends Ellison, Wang Cases With Multi-Year Trading Bans

CFTCThe CFTC has resolved its civil enforcement cases against former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison and FTX co-founder Gary Wang through supplemental consent orders. Ellison received a five-year trading ban and 10-year registration ban, while Wang received five-year and eight-year bans, respectively. The CFTC cited their cooperation with its investigations and the financial consequences of related criminal proceedings. The agency did not seek additional restitution, disgorgement, or civil monetary penalties.
