Hyperliquid to Support Native USDC Amid $5.5B Surge in AUM

The integration will use Circle’s upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP v2), enabling seamless, trustless transfers without wrapped tokens or custodial bridges.

The move opens up new use cases on Hyperliquid, where traders will soon be able to use native USDC for perpetual positions or as a settlement asset in spot markets. While no launch date has been given, the announcement has already stirred momentum—HYPE token prices jumped 3% following the news.

Hyperliquid has seen explosive growth, with assets under management on Arbitrum rising to $5.5 billion this month—largely due to the absence of native USDC support, which forced traders to bridge assets. This integration aims to remove that friction.

The DEX has also seen a surge in user activity, with open interest hitting $10.6 billion. Its recent expansion into the Solana ecosystem and partnership with Phantom for wallet-based leveraged trading further underscores its growing footprint.

For Circle, the Hyperliquid collaboration follows a string of integrations in recent months, including moves onto the XRP Ledger, World Chain, and a strategic partnership with Ant Group in Asia.
