In order to explore privacy-preserving infrastructure for tokenized assets, Real, a Layer 1 blockchain focusing on institutional-scale real-world asset tokenization, and iExec, a provider of confidential computing infrastructure, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
In order to preserve confidentiality and facilitate compliance and auditability, the partnership will evaluate how institutional RWA issuance, distribution, and on-chain financial transactions might be carried out.
The whole lifetime of tokenized assets—onboarding, verification, risk assessment, settlement, and asset management—is supported by Real. Through Trusted Execution Environments, such as Intel TDX, and its Nox Protocol, which enables encrypted data processing, confidential smart contract execution, selective disclosure, and verified computation, iExec offers confidential computing.
In order to facilitate private financial operations, encrypted transaction flows, and confidential tokenized assets, the firms are going to explore how Nox Protocol can interface with Real’s Layer 1.
“Institutions need more than tokenization. They need infrastructure that protects sensitive financial data while still allowing compliance, oversight, and auditability,” said Ivo Grigorov, CEO, Real. “Our Partnership with iExec is an important step toward exploring how confidential computing can support the next generation of real-world asset markets.”
“Confidentiality is a key requirement for institutional blockchain adoption. By exploring collaboration with Real, we aim to evaluate how confidential computing and Nox Protocol can help bring privacy-preserving execution to real-world asset issuance and financial operations.”
In addition to financial activities including subscriptions, redemptions, dividend distributions, lending, and structured credit, the partnership will cover the issuance and distribution of confidential RWAs, including encrypted balances and private transaction flows. Additionally, the parties will evaluate how confidential assets may continue to be compatible with custody, settlement infrastructure, and possible secondary markets, as well as selective disclosure procedures for regulators and auditors.
The agreement creates a framework for investigating institutional use cases, including private credit and tokenized funds. Technical conversations, pilot selection, and architectural alignment are the next stages.
Tokenization of real-world assets is still growing, but institutional adoption often necessitates the protection of sensitive information like investment allocations and transaction details. Real and iExec will assess how private financial activities might be made possible by confidential computing while maintaining restricted regulatory access and on-chain verifiability.
Real is a Layer 1 blockchain that facilitates onboarding, verification, risk assessment, governance, settlement, and interoperability for institutional-scale tokenization of real-world assets.
iExec is a provider of confidential computing infrastructure that uses Trusted Execution Environments to provide safe off-chain compute. Encrypted data processing, private smart contract execution, selective disclosure, and verified computation are all made possible by its Nox Protocol.
