Pi Network is now attempting to reduce that gap through a new partnership with CiDi Games, a next-generation gaming platform that plans to embed Pi into a broad catalog of titles.
The collaboration is paired with an investment from Pi Network Ventures. That initiative is a $100 million effort aimed at backing companies that can deliver genuine utility across the Pi ecosystem. The investment is positioned as a signal of confidence that gaming can move beyond one-off experiments and become a major entry point for mainstream adoption.
Pi Network has spent years building a community of verified users who participate through mobile mining and interact with third-party apps. The network views gaming as a key vertical for Web3 adoption since games create recurring engagement and offer natural venues for transactions. Nicolas Kokkalis, one of Pi Network’s founders, pointed to earlier tests within the ecosystem that included hackathons and the release of FruityPi. That title demonstrated Pi payments, Pi Ad Network integration, and wallet functionality in a single experience. The new partnership aims to scale those early experiments into something broader.
CiDi Games plans to develop part of its system as an extension of the Pi platform. That includes APIs that support other developers, along with infrastructure designed to make Pi integration easier. The goal is a more connected environment where games can incorporate social features and consistent on-chain utility without requiring users to learn complex mechanics.
Pi Network’s community is one of the largest in Web3. Tens of millions of users have gone through verification steps and regularly interact with apps built on the platform. For CiDi Games, that reach provides a rare opportunity to test and scale titles with a motivated audience. Jeremy Ng, CEO of CiDi Games, noted that the partnership aligns with the company’s goal of building a cross-platform ecosystem designed for global scale.
The arrangement creates a two-way flow. CiDi gains visibility within Pi’s community, and Pi gains a wave of new users introduced through CiDi’s games. The partners also plan to explore community-driven governance and development models, which could become an important experiment for Web3-focused gaming.
The collaboration will unfold in phases. CiDi’s first priority is an HTML5 game hub aimed at lightweight, cross-device play. This platform is scheduled for formal testing in the first quarter of 2026. It will include a curated set of titles and will integrate Pi for payments, rewards, and transactions. Feedback loops from Pi’s community will guide refinements to performance, content selection, and broader ecosystem alignment.
For the blockchain sector, the partnership offers another test of a long-standing theory. Gaming may be the clearest path toward real-world crypto adoption. Pi Network and CiDi Games are betting that a large community paired with practical utility can turn that theory into measurable results.
