Cardano (ADA) Price: ADA Eyes $0.25 Breakout but Warning Signs Are Stacking Up

14-Aug-2026 CoinCentral

TLDR

  • ADA is trading around $0.18 with a market cap near $6.9 billion
  • $0.20–$0.21 is the key resistance bulls need to reclaim
  • A TD9 sell signal and weakening MVRV ratio are adding short-term pressure
  • $0.17 is the critical support level — losing it could push ADA to $0.155
  • Cardano’s PRIME DeFi proposal has been approved, potentially attracting new liquidity

Cardano is trading around $0.18 after a recovery attempt ran into resistance near $0.20. The price has struggled to break higher, leaving ADA stuck between key support and resistance levels.

ADA’s market cap sits near $6.9 billion. Trading volume over the last 24 hours reached $437.27 million, per CoinMarketCap.

The $0.20–$0.21 zone has become the main wall for bulls. A clean break above it would open the door toward $0.22, with $0.25 as the next major target after that.

Analyst The Moon Show flagged $0.25 as the level that would confirm a broader expansion move for ADA.

On-Chain Data Shows Pressure Building

Ali Charts highlighted that ADA’s MVRV ratio has dropped sharply. This suggests recent buyers are sitting at a loss, which can reduce confidence and lead to more selling.

Ali Charts also noted a Tom DeMark TD9 sell signal on ADA’s daily chart. This signal appeared after ADA pushed into resistance near $0.20 and failed to hold. TD9 signals often show up near short-term exhaustion points.

Analyst Crypto V pointed to $0.17 as a key reset level before any stronger recovery can take hold. They set $0.154 as the invalidation point for the bullish case.

AltCryptoGems flagged that ADA’s structure remains weak, with the risk of a fresh lower low if $0.17 breaks down.

PRIME Proposal Approval Adds a Bullish Catalyst

On the fundamental side, Cardano’s PRIME initiative — proposed by AlphaGrowth — has been approved. The project aims to bring more liquidity and capital into the Cardano ecosystem.

If implemented successfully, PRIME could support decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, and other DeFi applications built on Cardano by reducing slippage and improving capital depth.

More Crypto Online noted that ADA completed a three-wave advance from its June low. A hold above $0.18 keeps the path open toward $0.218–$0.222.

A break below $0.18 would put the $0.17 support zone in focus. Losing that level could expose the next demand area near $0.155.

ADA is currently trading at $0.1816, down 2.30% in the last 24 hours, with the $0.17–$0.20 range remaining the key zone to watch.
