Amazon has signed long-term agreements to purchase electricity from four wind farms in Sweden, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

The deals are tied to the company’s ongoing expansion of data centre capacity in the Nordic region.
The agreements will add nearly 200 megawatts of electricity to Amazon’s power supply in the country.
Once all four wind farms are fully operational, Amazon will have more than 1 gigawatt of total power supply in Sweden.
Amazon confirmed the details in emailed comments to Bloomberg.
The four wind farms are being developed by two Swedish energy companies: Eolus AB and OX2 AB.
OX2 is owned by private equity firm EQT AB.
No financial terms were disclosed for any of the four agreements.
Individual project capacities were also not provided in Amazon’s statements.
Expected completion dates for the wind farms have not been announced.
Amazon has been growing its data centre footprint in Sweden as demand for cloud computing capacity rises.
The power agreements are part of the electricity supply infrastructure supporting that expansion.
Sweden’s energy mix is heavily weighted toward renewables, making it an attractive location for large-scale power procurement deals.
Amazon’s total power supply in Sweden will cross 1 gigawatt once the new wind farms come online, up from its current position.
The company has not outlined further details on the timeline or total investment involved in the Swedish data centre buildout.
