The drop puts APP in oversold territory according to RSI indicators, and InvestingPro data flags the stock as undervalued at current levels.

A string of analyst downgrades has followed the company’s second-quarter 2026 earnings, which came in below guidance. APP missed its revenue guidance midpoint by 30 basis points and its EBITDA guidance midpoint by 100 basis points.

Piper Sandler cut its price target to $325 from $385 on Thursday, keeping its Neutral rating. The firm lowered its valuation multiple to about 18 times from 20 times and trimmed its second-half 2026 margin expectations after management discussions on the split between e-commerce and gaming revenue.

The analyst called the business “high quality” and suggested the expectations reset could set up a more positive near-term outlook. Piper Sandler is also hosting an expert call on the health of the mobile gaming market on August 27.

Analysts Pull Back on Price Targets

BofA Securities downgraded APP to Neutral from Buy, cutting its target from $430 to $400. The bank pointed to concerns over the long-term sustainability of revenue growth, particularly in the Consumer segment.

Benchmark kept its Buy rating but lowered its target from $500 to $440, citing a maturing gaming business and what it called a more conservative growth framework.

BTIG also maintained a Buy rating while cutting its target from $574 to $408, following conversations about a strategic shift in AppLovin’s Commerce business unit.

Phillip Securities made the smallest adjustment, trimming its target from $635 to $610 while keeping a Buy rating. The firm cited higher costs tied to model training as the reason for the cut.

Fundamentals Still Hold Up

Despite the wave of target cuts, AppLovin’s underlying numbers are not falling apart. The company posted 61% revenue growth over the last twelve months and carries an 88% gross profit margin.

It also holds a perfect Piotroski Score of 9, a measure of financial strength that few companies hit.

The stock’s year-to-date decline of 54% contrasts sharply with those fundamentals, which is likely why several analysts are holding Buy ratings even as they lower their price expectations.

AppLovin last traded at $301.26, down $7.51 or 2.43% on the day.
