TL;DR

  • Bitcoin rebounded above $64,000 after briefly falling below $62,800, recovering from a $3,000 decline triggered before the closely watched FOMC meeting.
  • XRP, ADA, Ether, UNI and other large-cap tokens posted gains, although NEAR, LTC and ZEC remained under pressure during the broader market recovery.
  • BEAT surged 35% and PI gained 5.5%, while total cryptocurrency capitalization recovered about $40 billion to approximately $2.27 trillion from Tuesday’s overall low.

Bitcoin rebounded above $64,000 on Wednesday after briefly sinking below $62,800 during a sharp reduction in risk before the Federal Open Market Committee meeting. The move followed two failed attempts to hold $65,600 on Monday and a loss of roughly $3,000 in less than one day. The recovery restored a key psychological level but did not erase the violence of Tuesday’s reversal. With monetary policy uncertainty still unresolved, the bounce leaves traders wondering whether buyers have regained control or merely paused a broader decline after defending the market’s latest local low.

Altcoins recover as traders await the Fed

Bitcoin’s path has been compressed. After rejection near $67,000 last week, BTC fell below $63,600 on Friday, stabilized around $64,000 through most of the weekend, and climbed on Monday as tensions between the United States and Iran eased. Tuesday then delivered the abrupt breakdown beneath $62,800. The market has crossed the same narrow price zone repeatedly while sentiment changes with remarkable speed. Bitcoin’s capitalization recovered to about $1.29 trillion, while its share of the total cryptocurrency market increased to 57%, showing that the rebound favored BTC relative to many smaller assets.

Large-cap altcoins also turned greener during the recovery. XRP gained 3% to approximately $1.09, ADA advanced 4.4% to $0.165, and Ether reclaimed $1,900. UNI added more than 5%, while XMR reached $350 and SKY, ONDO, and TAO posted gains across the broader market during today’s session on Wednesday. The rebound spread across established tokens, although participation remained uneven beneath the surface. NEAR declined another 5%, with LTC and ZEC also trading lower, suggesting that the broader improvement was selective rather than a uniform return of confidence across every major segment of the digital-asset market.

Smaller tokens produced the session’s most dramatic moves. BEAT surged 35% to $3.75 after the previous day’s collapse, while Pi Network’s PI rose 5.5% toward $0.08 after falling to $0.074. The total cryptocurrency market recovered about $40 billion from Tuesday’s low, reaching roughly $2.27 trillion. Capital returned quickly, but the strongest rebounds appeared in assets that had recently suffered the sharpest damage. Ahead of the FOMC decision, that pattern leaves the market balanced between bargain hunting and caution, with one policy announcement capable of reshaping the recovery almost immediately for traders across the overall market.
