Canary Capital’s Canary Staked TRX ETF began trading on Wednesday, September 9, under the ticker symbol TRXS on the Cboe exchange. It is the first staked exchange-traded fund tied to TRON’s native token in the United States.

The fund gives investors access to TRX through standard brokerage accounts, without needing to hold or stake the token directly. Canary Capital says it plans to stake substantially all of the TRX held in the trust.
Staking fees are capped at 20% of rewards generated. The remaining 80% stays within the trust and is factored into the fund’s daily net asset value. The annual sponsor fee is set at 1.10% of TRX holdings.
BitGo Bank & Trust serves as custodian for the fund’s TRX. U.S. Bank handles cash, while U.S. Bancorp Fund Services covers administration, accounting, and transfer-agent services.
Crypto analyst Don Wedge noted on social media that “$TRX looking strong” following the ETF launch news, reflecting early positive sentiment around the product hitting US markets.

TRON founder Justin Sun said the ETF reflects growing recognition of the network. “The launch of the Canary Staked TRX ETF demonstrates the growing recognition of the TRON network as critical infrastructure for the global digital economy,” Sun said.
TRON processed $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers during Q2 2026, according to a Messari report from August 10. The network’s stablecoin market cap hit $89.2 billion, with USDT making up $87.9 billion of that total.

Average daily USDT transfer volume rose 4.3% from the prior quarter to $22.8 billion. By early August, TRON had crossed 15 billion total transactions since launch.
Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg said investors are looking beyond the assets themselves toward the networks powering blockchain activity. “TRON has become a critical piece of the infrastructure powering digital asset payments and settlement,” McClurg said.
Canary originally filed the fund’s Form S-1 registration in April 2025. The filing was later updated to include the ticker, exchange, custody arrangements, and staking structure.
TRXS differs from some other altcoin ETF structures. VanEck and Grayscale kept staking out of their proposed BNB ETF structures, while Canary built staking directly into TRXS.
Bitwise filed with the SEC in December 2025 for a TRX-linked ETF as well, using a different structure that allows up to 60% direct crypto holdings with the rest in related products or derivatives.
TRX had a market cap of $32.1 billion at launch, ranking eighth among all cryptocurrencies. Binance.US restored spot TRX trading earlier this year, and Bitnomial launched regulated TRX futures on July 27.
