Citizens JMP raised its price target on Robinhood Markets (HOOD) to $165 from $155 on Friday, keeping its Market Outperform rating in place. The stock was trading at $113.33 at the time, putting the new target roughly 46% above the current price.
The upgrade is driven by Robinhood Chain, the company’s blockchain platform. Citizens is now modeling around $1 million per day in net chain revenue for 2027, or about $365 million for the full year. That assumes Robinhood hits the 85% revenue-sharing tier by then, which would imply approximately $1.2 million per day in underlying sequencer revenue.
For context, that figure is about 65% below the $3.3 million average daily pace recorded during the seven days ended September 8. Citizens flagged that Labor Day likely inflated activity and is not carrying that pace forward.
The new $165 target is based on roughly 30x EV/2027 adjusted EBITDA, also supported by a long-term discounted cash flow analysis. The stock currently trades at a P/E of around 50.
Citizens is far from alone in turning more bullish. Mizuho raised its target to $140, citing expectations around AI-related IPOs. Jefferies also moved to $140 after meetings with Robinhood’s CFO. Goldman Sachs lifted its target to $142, pointing to the growth of Robinhood’s prediction market venture. Bernstein held its Outperform rating with a $160 target, highlighting Robinhood’s blockchain platform as a Top 5 chain across several metrics.
The consensus among analysts tracked by MarketBeat sits at Moderate Buy, with an average target of $129.83. Of 27 analysts covering the stock, 23 rate it Buy, one Strong Buy, and three Hold.
Robinhood’s most recent earnings gave analysts plenty to work with. The company posted EPS of $0.62 for the quarter, topping the $0.44 consensus by $0.18. Revenue came in at $1.31 billion, ahead of the $1.29 billion estimate, and up 32.5% from the same quarter a year ago. Net margin hit 42.01%.
Beyond blockchain, Robinhood is pushing into prediction markets. The company reported 15-fold year-over-year growth in event contracts and struck deals with Crypto.com and OG.com to expand distribution. CEO Vlad Tenev has also said the company wants to grow its underwriting business following the Oura IPO.
Not everything is clean. Robinhood is pulling sports prediction markets in Michigan due to a lawsuit, and its tokenized stock strategy has drawn public criticism from AMC CEO Adam Aron.
On the insider activity front, 570,260 units were sold over the past 90 days for roughly $64.1 million, all under pre-arranged 10b5-1 plans. Institutional investors hold 93.27% of the company.
The stock has a 52-week range of $63.51 to $153.86 and a market cap of approximately $101.89 billion.
