TLDR

  • DASH jumped 17.5% to $56.85, its highest price since May, following a Zcash-driven privacy coin rally
  • Grayscale’s spot Zcash ETF crossed $400M in assets after listing on NYSE Arca on August 25
  • DASH is up roughly 85% from its mid-August low near $30
  • A golden cross between the 50-day and 200-day EMA adds technical support to the rally
  • Holding $52 opens a path to $72; losing it risks a pullback toward $40

DASH opened September 4 at $47.46 and climbed as high as $56.85 before settling near $55.76. The move marks DASH’s highest price since May and came alongside a broader rally in privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.

The catalyst appears to be Grayscale’s spot Zcash fund. It listed on NYSE Arca on August 25 with just over $300 million in assets and has since crossed $400 million. ZEC pushed above $1,000 during that stretch and entered the top ten in market cap for the first time.

Traders often group Zcash and Dash together as privacy and payment assets. As ZEC gained attention, buying rotated into DASH as a secondary play. There has been no confirmed major project announcement from the Dash team to explain the move independently.

Technical Picture Points Higher

A golden cross has formed on the DASH chart, with the 50-day EMA crossing above the 200-day EMA. That is generally viewed as a bullish technical signal.

The MACD remains above the zero line and the AO histogram shows no clear signs of fading. The Chaikin Money Flow indicator is also above zero, pointing to continued buying pressure.

RSI sits at 75.91, which is in overbought territory. That raises the possibility of short-term consolidation before any further push higher.

Daily transaction activity on the DASH network has also been trending upward, giving the rally a network usage component beyond price speculation.

Key Price Levels to Watch

The $55 to $57 zone is the immediate test. DASH reached this range twice in May but failed to hold it both times. A clean break above $57 could put $60 in range.

If price pulls back, $48 is the first potential support area. A deeper retreat could bring DASH toward the $43–$44 region.

Crypto analyst Crypto Patel noted on X that DASH hit $54.60, representing an 86% gain from their accumulation zone. The analyst remains bullish long-term, citing targets of $100, $200, $300, $400, and $500, while stating that the $30 support zone needs to hold for the bull structure to stay intact.

The $52 level is seen as the key near-term floor. Holding it keeps $72 as a conditional upside target. Losing it could bring the rally to a halt.

DASH was last trading near $55.76 as of September 4, up roughly 85% from its mid-August price near $30.
