31-Aug-2026 CoinCentral

TLDR

  • DOGE fell to $0.086 after being rejected at the $0.100 resistance level, down 14% from August’s peak
  • Perpetual futures open interest dropped to 15.7 billion DOGE, signaling cooling speculative demand
  • DOGE is still up 25% in August, on track for its best monthly return of 2026
  • Accumulation score hit 100, suggesting persistent buying despite the price dip
  • Key levels to watch: $0.081 support and $0.09 breakout trigger; a break above could target $0.115

Dogecoin is pulling back after a strong August rally that pushed it to a three-month high of $0.100. The meme coin is now trading around $0.084–$0.086, down roughly 14% from that peak.

Despite the drop, DOGE is still up 25% in August. That would make it the best monthly performance of 2026 and break a three-month bearish streak.

Trading volume has fallen sharply, from $5.2 billion on August 23 to just $1.5 billion. Perpetual futures open interest also slipped from 17.3 billion DOGE to 15.7 billion DOGE over the same period, pointing to reduced speculative activity.

On the positive side, DOGE’s accumulation score has reached 100, according to on-chain analyst CW. That means buying has been steady throughout the week rather than a brief spike.

DOGE is holding above its 50-day EMA ($0.078) and 100-day EMA ($0.082). However, the 200-day EMA near $0.095 is acting as resistance.

Bullish Patterns Setting Up

Several technical patterns are developing on the chart. Analyst Crypto Tony is watching a potential inverse head-and-shoulders formation, with a neckline breakout that could target $0.098. The pattern still needs confirmation.

Chartist Ali Charts also identifies a bullish flag forming after the recent rally. The key level is $0.09 — an hourly close above that could open targets at $0.096, $0.105, and eventually $0.115. The main support to hold is $0.081.

Analyst MikybullCrypto posted on X that $DOGE could surpass $1 in an upcoming bull run, pointing to a key price level as one not to ignore — adding to the bullish sentiment around the coin.

DOGE vs Bitcoin

On the DOGE/BTC chart, the monthly RSI has dropped below 40. Analyst Crypto Surf notes this has only happened twice before in the chart’s history. While rare, this reading alone doesn’t confirm a reversal.

The RSI on the USD chart sits around 63, below overbought territory, with MACD still in positive territory.

DOGE is currently trading between $0.081 support and $0.09 resistance, with price holding around $0.08447 as of August 31.
