The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration publicly disclosed the recall on Tuesday. The action encompasses multiple model years spanning four distinct vehicle platforms.
Impacted models include the 2022–2025 Lincoln Navigator, 2024–2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2025 Lincoln Aviator, and 2025 Ford Explorer.
The underlying issue originates from the Image Processing Module A, which experiences unexpected resets. During these reset events, drivers experience complete loss of rearview camera display alongside the shutdown of multiple driver assistance technologies.
Ford stock experienced a 0.2% increase during premarket trading on Tuesday. This movement came after a 2.1% rally in the previous session on Monday.
The module reset causes deactivation of pre-collision assist, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring features. These represent fundamental safety technologies that modern drivers routinely depend upon during daily operation.
