Hashdex made the change to its Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF, which trades under the ticker NCIQ, effective September 1, 2026. The fund now holds nine crypto assets, up from eight.

HYPE enters the index with a 3.36% weighting. Bitcoin remains the largest holding at 74.36%, followed by Ethereum at 11.88%, XRP at 5.21%, and Solana at 3.79%.

The index now includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Stellar, Cardano, Chainlink, and Bitcoin Cash.

Hashdex launched NCIQ in February 2025 with just Bitcoin and Ethereum. The fund uses a rules-based methodology covering liquidity, market cap, custody support, and regulatory listing standards.

Hashdex CIO Samir Kerbage said the fund was always designed to grow. “When we launched NCIQ in February 2025 with two assets, the whole point was that the portfolio would expand,” Kerbage said.

He also pointed to Hyperliquid’s decentralized trading model and recent regulatory developments as reasons the ecosystem has become more relevant to financial markets.

Hyperliquid Strategies Expands Financing Facility

On the same day, Hyperliquid Strategies filed with the SEC to expand its equity financing facility with Chardan Capital Markets from $1 billion to $2.5 billion. The expanded capacity does not mean the company has raised that amount.

Actual proceeds depend on share sales and pricing. The company previously stated proceeds could go toward general corporate purposes, including potential HYPE purchases, though no minimum allocation is set.

Hyperliquid Strategies held 29.3 million HYPE as of August 19. Since December 2025, the company spent $773.4 million to acquire roughly 16.5 million tokens at an average price of $46.77.

PURR, the company’s Nasdaq-listed stock, closed at $11.36 on September 1, down 7.3% on the day. That price sits below the $12.02 reference level tied to a share issuance cap in the amended agreement.
