Quarterly active customers rose 23% year-over-year to 2.6M. Nigeria led country performance with 36% physical goods GMV growth, while Ghana posted 77% growth.
CEO Francis Dufay made the company’s priorities clear. “We deliberately chose to protect our margins and unit economics this quarter rather than chase GMV at the expense of profitability,” he said.
Home and Living gained category share as Phones and Electronics pulled back due to supply disruptions. Average order value fell 5% to $34.6, but gross profit per order actually rose 2% to $4.9.
Marketplace revenue surged 34% year-over-year to $28.8M. Marketing and advertising revenue jumped 88% to $3.5M, a standout figure in the mix.

Jumia priced a $50M capital raise anchored by a $25M investment from the International Finance Corporation. Investors agreed to purchase 9.1M ADSs at $5.52 per ADS.
Axian, one of Jumia’s largest existing shareholders, also participated alongside other new investors. Management described the IFC’s involvement as a credibility boost with institutional investors.
Proceeds will support growth across core African markets and strengthen Jumia’s marketplace and logistics network. Management said the raise reduces financing risk on the path to profitability.
The company updated its GMV outlook to 15-25% year-over-year growth for Q3 2026 and 20-30% for full-year 2026. Supply disruptions in phones and electronics drove the revision.
FY 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance remained unchanged at negative $25M to $30M. The Q4 2026 breakeven target and FY 2027 full-year profitability goal were both reaffirmed.
Cash burn rose to $14.3M in Q2, up from $12.4M in Q2 2025. Jumia’s liquidity position stood at $48.3M at quarter end.
The capital raise is expected to close in the second half of August 2026, pending customary closing conditions.
