TL;DR:
KuCoin Web3 Wallet expanded its derivatives offering with the integration of Hyperliquid Improvement Proposal 3 (HIP-3), an update that extends access to perpetual markets beyond native crypto assets to include equity prices, commodities, indices and currencies. All of this from a single self-custody wallet with a mobile-first format.
The move is part of the next step in the product roadmap initiated in January 2025, when the wallet incorporated native perpetual contracts directly into its interface. With HIP-3, the Hyperliquid ecosystem allows qualified builders to deploy new perpetual markets through on-chain mechanisms, expanding the universe of available instruments in a more open and decentralized way.
HIP-3 is now live in KuCoin Web3 Wallet

The integration aims to strengthen what KuCoin Web3 calls a “Crypto + TradFi one-stop Perps” experience: a single entry point for trading derivatives across different asset classes without needing to move between applications or disconnected trading flows. Users will continue to maintain control over their assets and private keys at all times.
Gas Meng, head of operations at KuCoin Web3 Wallet, noted that the goal is “to offer a more open model of market expansion directly into the native Perps experience, prioritizing mature liquidity sources to maintain consistent execution quality as the ecosystem grows.”
For the initial launch, the wallet will implement HIP-3 through the XYZ protocol, selected for its more unified liquidity within the Hyperliquid ecosystem and its capacity to provide a balanced trading experience during the expansion phase.

The HIP-3 model introduces a more permissive expansion architecture, which raises the challenge of maintaining execution and usability standards as new markets are added. KuCoin Web3 opted for a selective integration strategy, prioritizing established liquidity before enabling the full spectrum of markets that the protocol allows to deploy.
