Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor posted “We’re Back” on X over the weekend, sparking widespread speculation that the company is about to buy Bitcoin again for the first time in two months.

MSTR stock was trading at $127.31 at close. Bitcoin climbed to near $79,000, up almost 1% over the past 24 hours and more than 2.5% from Friday’s low.
Saylor has a well-known track record of posting cryptic weekend messages that are followed by official treasury purchase announcements on Monday mornings. The market took notice quickly.
The two-month pause in buying was a deliberate pivot. Strategy spent the summer months stabilising its finances rather than adding to its Bitcoin pile.
That included selling some of its Bitcoin holdings to shore up its balance sheet, before shifting strategy and selling MSTR stock instead to build USD reserves.
The result was a $5.1 billion US dollar reserve and a dedicated $1.59 billion cash pool raised through common stock offerings. It also began buying back its preferred stock, STRC.
Strategy now has nearly four years of preferred-dividend coverage. That changes the math on how new capital gets deployed.
With that buffer in place, any fresh capital raised is now more likely to go toward Bitcoin purchases or further STRC buybacks, rather than sitting in cash reserves.
STRC climbed as high as $98 on Friday. The company will likely keep buying back that preferred stock to push it back toward par value of $100.
Strategy holds 840,447 Bitcoin at an average cost basis of around $75,385 per coin. With Bitcoin trading near $79,000, the firm’s overall position has moved back into positive territory for the first time in months.
That shift in paper profit, combined with the strengthened balance sheet, appears to have created the conditions Saylor was waiting for before resuming accumulation.
The summer pause coincided with a rough patch for Bitcoin prices that had left the company’s treasury deep in the red on paper.
Bitcoin’s recent recovery past the $80,000 level was a turning point. The macro backdrop has improved enough to put Strategy back on the offensive.
Saylor’s post came as Bitcoin dominance climbed above 60%, a level that reflects growing capital concentration in the leading cryptocurrency.
If Monday brings an official treasury update, it would mark Strategy’s return to the weekly Bitcoin buying cadence that defined its playbook for much of the past two years.
