TL;DR
Mirae Asset Financial Group announced an ambitious plan to build a digital asset business valued at 150 trillion won ($109 billion), with Digital X as the centerpiece of its strategy. The roadmap was presented by Park Hyeon-joo, founder and chairman of the group, during an internal event held in Seoul under the name “A New Voyage Begins, Together“, as reported by The Korea Times.
A few weeks ago it was announced that Mirae Asset Consulting, a subsidiary of the group, acquired a 97% stake in Korbit in July, later rebranding the company behind the exchange as Digital X.

Digital X will operate with a focus on four areas: cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, real-world assets, and security token offerings. Within that framework, the company plans to tokenize physical assets such as gold, silver, and electricity, in addition to developing financial products and services based on digital assets and making proprietary investments. The long-term objective is to build an “onchain finance” ecosystem underpinned by blockchain technology.
To fund this expansion process, Mirae is evaluating an additional capitalization of between 200 billion and 300 billion won ($218 million) through a third-party allocation planned for the first quarter of 2027, contingent on the evolution of financial results.
Park was explicit about the project’s time horizon: “Our initial goal is to make Digital X a central pillar of ‘Mirae Asset 3.0‘ and grow the digital asset business to 150 trillion won by leveraging the group’s 1,500 trillion won in client assets,” he stated. The executive also noted that the longer-term goal is to build an international-scale platform combining traditional and digital assets, with Digital X at the center of that project.
The group set 2027 as the target year for the division to achieve profitability, implying a fairly rapid period of construction in both infrastructure and product offering within the blockchain industry.
