SpaceX completed two Starlink satellite missions over the weekend. A Falcon 9 launched 29 satellites from Cape Canaveral, while another lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base carrying 27 Starlink satellites.

Those back-to-back missions pushed SpaceX past a milestone: 100 launches in 2026. The company reached that same mark a few days later in 2025, when it went on to complete 170 total launches for the year, more than half of all global launches.

Starlink Keeps Growing

Starlink ended the second quarter with around 12 million subscribers. Revenue hit $4.3 billion in Q2, up from $2.6 billion a year earlier.

Adjusted EBITDA came in at $2.6 billion, compared to $1.6 billion in Q2 2025. The subscriber and revenue growth reflects continued momentum for SpaceX’s broadband service.

Starship Test 14 on the Horizon

On Aug. 21, SpaceX completed a static fire of six Raptor engines on Starship’s upper stage. Static fire tests are a standard step before a full rocket launch.

The lower booster still hasn’t been tested. That step is expected to come before the full flight, which puts Starship Test 14 on track for sometime in September.

Test 14 is being closely watched by investors. It is expected to include Starship achieving a stable Earth orbit for the first time.

SpaceX hopes to begin deploying commercial payloads with Starship by late 2027. Elon Musk has also pointed to Starship as the key to putting AI data centers in orbit, which he believes gives SpaceX a cost edge in the AI market.

Separately, Musk announced on Aug. 21 that SpaceX is targeting more than 30 launches per day by 2030, which would equal roughly 10,000 launches a year. That goal sits well above the U.S. government’s own target of 1,000 annual launches by 2030, and far beyond the FAA’s previous forecast of 385.

SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment on its Starship testing timeline.
