Standard Chartered initiated coverage of Chainlink (LINK) on Monday, setting a $200 price target by 2030. The bank projects LINK will reach $13 by end of 2026, $82 by 2028, and $133 by 2029.

The forecast cited Chainlink’s role in tokenization and decentralized finance (DeFi) as key growth drivers.

The announcement triggered a spike in large wallet activity. Blockchain analytics firm Santiment recorded 246 transactions above $100,000 in a single 24-hour window — the highest daily count in five months.

Wallets holding between 100,000 and 10 million LINK now hold 466.31 million coins, equal to 46.57% of the circulating supply. Santiment noted that this cohort’s balance has grown alongside transaction volume.

Market analyst Ali Charts reported that transactions exceeding $1 million jumped from roughly 1 to around 15 over 96 hours. LINK was trading near $8.70 at the time, with $9 identified as the key breakout level.

Technical Signals Flash Bullish

Three technical indicators are now pointing in the same direction for LINK.

The MVRV ratio formed a golden cross above its 200-day simple moving average for the first time in over a year. Ali Charts noted that previous similar setups were followed by a 155% rally in November 2024 and an 85% surge in July 2025.

The monthly TD Sequential also flashed a buy signal. Because it appears on the monthly timeframe, analysts treat it as a more significant indicator than short-term signals.

A break and daily close above $9 could open a path toward $10, and potentially $11.30 — a move of close to 30% from current levels. Key support sits at $8.30, then $8.00.

ETF Flows and Exchange Reserves Tell a Different Story

Spot LINK ETFs attracted just $150,307 last week and posted zero inflows in two of the prior three weeks. Cumulative net inflows stand at $128.29 million against $114.87 million in net assets.

CryptoQuant data shows exchange reserves fell from 142.8 million LINK in late June to around 122.3 million in early August, but have since climbed back to 123.7 million — a pattern that can suggest selling into price strength.

LINK remains down more than 28% year-to-date. The 6.8% rise since Monday’s forecast has not recovered that ground.

Cumulative spot LINK ETF net inflows currently stand at $128.29 million.
