The USD Cash pool is a separate reserve of U.S. dollar liquidity that management can use to buy bitcoin, pay preferred stock dividends and debt interest, repurchase stock, or repay convertible notes.

The company said the pool gives management more flexibility to respond to market conditions, including disruptions in bitcoin or securities markets.

The existing USD Reserve policy stays in place and remains earmarked for preferred stock dividends and interest payments.

As of August 23, Strategy reported a USD Reserve balance of $5.10 billion and a USD Cash balance of $1.59 billion. Both figures include cash proceeds from ATM sales that had not yet settled.

$2.01 Billion Raised Through ATM Program

Between August 17 and August 23, Strategy sold 18,261,118 Class A common shares through its at-the-market offering program, generating net proceeds of approximately $2.01 billion.

Of that total, $300 million was added to the USD Reserve, $136.4 million was used to repurchase STRC preferred stock, and the rest went into the new USD Cash account.

No preferred stock was sold during the same period.

MSTR stock was trading up around 6% following the announcement, rising to approximately $119.25 in Monday trading.

Bitcoin Holdings Unchanged

Strategy made no bitcoin purchases or sales during the week ending August 23.

The company’s total bitcoin holdings stand at 840,447 BTC, acquired at an average price of $75,385 per coin. The total acquisition cost is approximately $63.36 billion.

During the same period, Strategy also repurchased 1,431,212 STRC preferred stock units for $136.4 million under its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program.

As of the filing date, $516.6 million remained available under that repurchase program.

A separate $1.0 billion repurchase program for MSTR stock also remains open.

No new bitcoin was added to the treasury this week, marking a pause in what has been an aggressive accumulation strategy.

Bitcoin itself was up around 1.36% on the day as of Monday morning.
