TL;DR:
Upshift, an onchain vault provider, launched Clear in partnership with Superstate, a platform designed to solve the so-called “settlement gap” affecting the real-world asset tokenization market. This mechanism replicates the logic of traditional bridge capital but executed entirely on-chain.
When a RWA user wants to redeem their position, the conventional process involves off-chain infrastructure, NAV calculations, custody management and bank transfers. That flow can stretch for days and is suspended on bank holidays or outside market hours. Upshift Clear steps in during that interval.

The platform operates through dedicated USDC vaults that advance instant liquidity to the user at the moment of redemption. The underlying process with the issuer continues in the background through traditional rails, but the user receives their funds at T+0. Liquidity providers who capitalize those vaults receive clrRWA in return, a composable receipt token that accrues fees generated by the redemption premium.
Aya Kantorovich, co-founder of Upshift, explained that tokenized assets have demonstrated they can operate natively onchain, but the redemption experience still runs on traditional settlement infrastructure. Clear gives RWA traders the same instant liquidity properties that made stablecoins composable in the DeFi ecosystem.

Currently, the platform supports redemptions of Superstate’s Crypto Carry Fund, known as USCC, a fund that generates yield from a basis trade in cryptocurrencies. This week, Bitwise announced it will take over investment management of the fund, which administers approximately $267 million in assets.
Upshift Clear was conceived as a generalized platform: it supports any RWA with a standard redemption mechanism, assigning each compatible asset a vault with its own liquidity pool and receipt token. The infrastructure aims to become a universal settlement layer for the tokenized real-world asset ecosystem.
