TL;DR
Wallets linked to the memecoin team TRUMP withdrew approximately $3.39 million in USDC from liquidity pools on the Solana network over a period of 10 hours, according to on-chain tracker Lookonchain.
The operation took place amid a rally in the token, driven by a broad improvement in the crypto market, and sparked a debate over the insider practices behind the project.
The #Trump team is selling $TRUMP by adding and removing liquidity.

The process used does not amount to a mass sell-off on an exchange. The wallets linked to the team deposited tokens in one-sided liquidity positions on the Meteora protocol, where trader activity gradually converted those TRUMP tokens into USDC. Once the conversion was complete, the stablecoins were withdrawn from the pool.
This structure has been used on previous occasions: in April 2025, team wallets withdrew around $4.6 million in USDC before moving the funds through Ethereum to Coinbase Prime. By December of that same year, the same wallet had removed approximately $94 million in 30 days, with individual transfers ranging from $2 million to $17.2 million.

This is particularly adverse for retail holders. By late June, nearly one million TRUMP buyers were sitting at a loss, with combined realized and unrealized losses estimated at $3.81 billion. A recent analysis indicated that approximately two thirds of the wallets that acquired the token are operating in the red.
Interest in crypto assets linked to the Trump family remains elevated. Recent estimates placed the family’s total crypto wealth at around $1.4 billion. A survey by Reuters/Ipsos revealed that 63% of respondents consider the family’s crypto gains inappropriate.
Withdrawing liquidity does not automatically trigger a price drop, but thinner pools raise slippage and make the token more vulnerable to any eventual decline in demand. That team wallets are converting liquidity into stablecoins precisely during a rally adds a risk variable the market should not ignore.
