11-Aug-2026 CoinCentral

  • XRP closed the week at $1.029, its lowest weekly close in nearly two years
  • The token is down roughly 44% year-to-date and trading around $1.03

  • Analyst ChartNerd expects a drop to $0.7 before any strong rebound
  • XRP whales bought 380 million coins in one week despite market uncertainty

Year-to-date, XRP is down roughly 44%, bringing it back to a price zone that has historically acted as strong support.

Analyst Ash Crypto was among the first to flag the development, pointing out that the weekly close was the weakest XRP has seen in close to two years.

Trader and market commentator That Martini Guy shared his take on X, writing that XRP “just closed its lowest week in nearly 2 years at $1.029,” calling it “a serious breakdown.” He noted the key question now is whether this is “the start of a deeper reset, or the kind of capitulation that eventually creates the next opportunity.” He said he is “watching this one closely.”

Double Bottom or Drop to $0.70?

XRP developer and analyst Bird says XRP is sitting directly on a major support area at $1. He outlined two possible outcomes from here.

In the first, XRP holds the $1 level, confirms a double-bottom formation, and completes a W-shaped reversal pattern that could push the price higher.

In the second, XRP briefly dips below $1 to collect liquidity before reclaiming the level and starting a stronger recovery. Bird noted that both paths could ultimately lead to higher prices.

Analyst ChartNerd takes a more cautious view. He expects XRP to fall to $0.70 before any meaningful rebound, and believes the token will remain in a downtrend through the end of 2026.

Buy Signal and Whale Activity

Analyst Ali Martinez pointed out that the TD Sequential indicator has flashed a buy signal on XRP’s monthly chart. Past signals like this preceded gains of 1,074% in 2020 and 973% in 2022.

Martinez added that XRP must clear $1.06 first, a resistance level where nearly 3 billion XRP were transacted. A monthly close above that could open the path to $1.35 and then $1.64.

The daily RSI currently sits at 39, still in bearish territory. A push above 50 on the RSI could help XRP break through the $1.06 resistance and target the 50-day EMA at $1.10.

Analyst Ali Charts noted that XRP whales purchased 380 million coins in a single week, suggesting large holders remain confident despite uncertainty around the CLARITY Act passing in 2026. Closing above the 50-day EMA at $1.10 for three straight days could then push XRP toward the 200-day EMA at $1.18.
