XRP Price: Eight Weeks of ETF Inflows and a Bullish Pattern — Is a Breakout Near?

10-Sep-2026 CoinCentral

TLDR

  • XRP gained over 3% in 24 hours, trading around $1.40 as it consolidates after August’s rally
  • A breakout above $1.50 could target $1.80, with a full technical projection pointing to $2.10
  • XRP ETFs pulled in $18.96 million the week ending September 4, slowing from $110.49 million the prior week
  • The Crypto Fear and Greed Index sits at 73, firmly in “Greed” territory
  • The Fed’s September 16 rate decision and a September 15 CLARITY Act vote are key catalysts this month

XRP has climbed more than 3% in the past 24 hours, trading near $1.40 after a strong August rally ran into resistance below $1.50. The token hit an intraday high of $1.43 and a low of $1.38 on September 7, with a market cap of around $89.26 billion and daily trading volume near $1.46 billion.

Volume has dropped sharply since September 4, when XRP saw over $4.17 billion in trading activity. The cooldown suggests the current consolidation is happening with less market participation.

XRP broke out of a short-term descending channel in early September. The breakout is still intact, but the price hasn’t pushed meaningfully higher since.

The 20-day SMA sits at $1.3954, just below the current price. Longer-term averages are further below — the 50-day at $1.19, the 100-day at $1.15, and the 200-day at $1.27.

ETF Inflows Slow But Stay Positive

U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $18.96 million in net inflows the week ending September 4 — the eighth straight week of positive flows. That’s a sharp drop from $110.49 million the week before.

Cumulative net inflows have reached approximately $1.66 billion, with total net assets around $1.44 billion.

Bullish Flag Pattern in Play

XRP has formed a bullish flag pattern on its daily chart. The pattern activates if price closes above $1.50 with strong volume.

A confirmed breakout targets $1.80 first, with the full technical projection pointing to $2.10 — about 48% above current levels.

Analyst Celal Kucuker posted a more aggressive outlook on X, setting targets of $2.30, $3.30, $4.90, $7.50, and $11.60 for XRP this bull run, telling followers to “save this chart, print it out, and hang it on your wall.”

Failure to break $1.50 could extend the consolidation and weaken the pattern over time.

Two major events fall mid-month. The Senate votes on a procedural motion for the CLARITY Act on September 15. The Federal Reserve announces its rate decision on September 16.

A less hawkish Fed tone could boost risk appetite and support XRP. A tighter stance could do the opposite.

XRP futures open interest fell 15.5% between August 17 and August 31, even as price rose. CME’s share of open interest rose from 10% to 17%, suggesting more regulated, professional participation in the market.

Active addresses on the XRP Ledger spiked in late August then faded. The 7-day moving average of active addresses crossed above the 30-day average — a signal that has preceded volatility in both directions in the past.

XRP needs to hold $1.35 support and break $1.50 to keep the bullish setup alive heading into the second half of September.
