Stellar Meridian 2025 was one of the most anticipated crypto conferences of the year. Held between September 17–18 at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Meridian 25′ gathered builders, regulators, and financial institutions.

Ecosystem participants made new announcements and integrations as growth on the Stellar XLM network looks set for an expansive 2026.

Highlights of Stellar Meridian 2025

Multiple announcements at Meridian 2025 showcased how the Stellar network is being utilized for increased real-world asset tokenization, stablecoin growth, and interoperability with other blockchain networks.

During the conference, Meridian Pay, an open-source, short-term smart wallet, was launched by the Stellar Development Foundation. The wallet, built for multi-purpose use cases, was a smart-contract wallet that could be run from a web browser.

Conference attendees were able to use Meridian Pay to collect NFTs and special tokens, which could then be transferred to their main Stellar wallets after the conference.

A standout announcement was the launch of USDY, the yield-bearing stablecoin from Ondo Finance, on Stellar. The USDY fund allows investors to earn yield from Ondo Finance’s basket of assets, regulated by finanical institutions. The introduction of USDY emphasised Stellar’s tokenization abilities.

Keeping in tokenization, Centrifuge, a leader in RWA infrastructure on-chain, announced that they would be bringing new tokenized funds to Stellar in the form of deJTRSY (Janus Henderson Short-Term US Treasury) and deJAAA, a DeFi AAA-rated CLO (Collateralized Loan Obligation).

With 24/7 trading, the new insitonal funds allow the average Stellar user to gain exposure to regulated funds, currently only available on the Stellar network.

A Brazilian product titled TESOURO from Etherfuse was introduced. TESOURO is a stablebond based on bonds from the Brazilian central bank. The assets offer high APYs in Brazilian Real terms.

Other highlights include MoneyGram’s confirmation that its application will be updated in partnership with Crossmint to allow new use cases for USDC in Colombia. The update will soon be rolled out internationally.

Nadine Chakar was due to speak at Meridian 2025, but the talk may have been cancelled. There is currently no known reason as to why as Stellar is set to be used by DTCC for their tokenization platform.
