Justin Sun's USD1 Stablecoin Backdoor Allegation

Separately, escalated the fight with a new claim: that World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin contains hidden backdoor functions

WuBlockchain also covered this development, reporting the specifics of Sun's post. WuBlockchain's post on X.WuBlockchain Official Tweet

Per Sun's statement, as relayed by Wu Blockchain, the alleged controls include:

  • The technical ability to freeze user funds tied to the world liberty financial USD1 token.

  • The ability to destroy or reallocate holdings without prior notice to token holders.

  • No disclosed governance vote authorizing these functions before they were reportedly used.

What Are the Solvency Concerns Behind This WLFI vs. Justin Sun Fight?

Sun also questioned whether World Liberty could cover a judgment against it. He argued the stablecoin's roughly $4 billion market capitalization reflects user-deposited collateral, not company funds available to pay his claim of hundreds of millions of dollars.

He said he has seen no evidence of sufficient capital outside that collateral and urged investors to use "extreme caution." World Liberty has not issued a public response to the backdoor and solvency claims at the time of publication.

Expert View

Analysts tracking the case note that the Zach Witkoff-Justin Sun dispute is becoming an important topic in Crypto news, extending beyond a single freeze allegation into broader questions of stablecoin governance and disclosure.

If Sun's backdoor claims are confirmed through discovery, it could pressure USD1's transparency standards industry-wide. Until the court issues a written order, however, both accounts of the hearing remain unverified claims rather than established fact.
