XRP enters the summer 2026 setup trading near $1.45, with volume rising and traders watching whether the token can finally turn repeated breakout attempts into a sustained move.
The short-term chart is built around three levels. The first is $1.45, the zone Ali Martinez has framed as the immediate breakout trigger. The second is $1.65, where several XRP-focused traders see stronger confirmation. The third is $1.80 to $2, the area that would decide whether XRP is only bouncing inside a range or starting a real summer trend.
The current setup is more constructive than it was earlier in the year because XRP is no longer relying only on legal memories from the SEC case. Ripple’s ecosystem now has RLUSD activity, XRP Ledger settlement pilots, and broader market-structure policy in the background. That gives the coin a cleaner story around payments, tokenized assets and institutional settlement, even if price still needs spot volume to prove the breakout.
XRP’s immediate challenge is simple: it has to hold above the old resistance zone long enough for traders to stop treating every rally as another failed move. That is why $1.45 and $1.65 matter before any serious $2 or higher forecast.
Ali Martinez recently wrote that a confirmed close above $1.45 could open the door to $1.80. That is the cleanest near-term technical map because it does not jump straight to the wildest upside number. It gives XRP a step-by-step path: reclaim $1.45, pressure $1.60 to $1.65, then test $1.80.
Ali’s longer-term XRP chart is far more aggressive. In a separate post, he pointed to a multi-year triangle with $0.90 as a potential bottom and $13 as a target for the next bull run. That target should be treated as a cycle-extension scenario, not a summer base case, but it explains why XRP bulls still treat the current range as compressed rather than dead.
XRP-focused analyst EGRAG Crypto has also placed attention on the $1.65 area, calling it a critical level to reclaim on the three-day timeframe. That fits the summer setup because XRP needs higher-timeframe confirmation before $2 becomes more than a psychological magnet.
Live market data still keeps the setup grounded. CoinGecko places XRP near $1.45 with market capitalization close to $90 billion and daily trading volume above $3.5 billion. That is enough liquidity for a clean move, but not enough by itself to guarantee follow-through if Bitcoin rolls over.
The base case for summer 2026 is XRP trading between $1.65 and $2.20. That assumes $1.45 holds, $1.65 flips into support, and Bitcoin avoids a deeper break below $80,000. Under that scenario, XRP can reach $2 without needing a euphoric market. It only needs a steady rotation into large-cap altcoins and stronger volume on the breakout.
The bullish case is $2.75 to $3.20 by late summer. That requires a clean move through $2, stronger XRP Ledger and RLUSD headlines, and a more favorable policy backdrop from the CLARITY Act debate. Recent XRP coverage has already framed $2 as the next important battleground, while RLUSD’s growth gives the Ripple ecosystem a stronger stablecoin and settlement angle.
The downside case is $1.10 to $1.25 if XRP loses $1.40 and Bitcoin breaks lower. That would likely delay the summer breakout and send XRP back into a wider accumulation range, especially if traders stop trusting the $1.45 reclaim.
XRP’s best summer path is not a straight moonshot to $13. It is a cleaner ladder: hold $1.45, reclaim $1.65, test $1.80, then force a decisive move through $2. If that sequence plays out with real volume and stronger policy headlines, XRP can finish summer as one of the better-performing large-cap altcoins. If it fails at $1.65 again, the market will keep treating every rally as noise until the range finally breaks.
