Zekret Launches Entry Protocol and Appoints Rodney Prescott as CEO

Zekret today announced the creation of the Entry Protocol, a non-profit entity dedicated to building the world’s first institutional-grade, regulated, and compliant Layer 1 blockchain for global finance. Alongside this milestone, Zekret confirmed the appointment of Rodney Prescott as Chief Executive Officer of the Protocol.

Entry Protocol’s mission is to provide a safe haven chain where institutions, banks, and governments can participate in decentralized finance with full regulatory certainty. Its infrastructure enforces Know Your Customer (KYC) at entry, screens assets before onboarding, and supports compliant stablecoin rails through ZUSD and ZEUR. With governance aligned to MiCA, FATF, and other global frameworks, Zekret delivers the regulated environment that capital markets require.

Rodney Prescott’s appointment underscores the Protocol’s commitment to bridging institutional finance with blockchain. Prescott brings more than four decades of experience at the intersection of payments, technology, and regulation. He has served as Zekret’s Head of Industry Relations since 2023, building relationships with banks, regulators, and institutional partners while shaping the company’s strategy for compliant digital payments. His career also spans naval service, banking leadership, and advisory roles with PwC and EY, where he worked with central banks and global financial institutions on payments modernization and blockchain adoption.

Prescott’s deep expertise in compliance is particularly relevant to Zekret’s mission. He has led transformation programs at Westpac, sat on the Australian Payments Clearing Association’s technical committee, and worked with the Bank of England and the Bank for International Settlements as part of his roles at PwC and the Cardano Foundation. He also advised the South African Reserve Bank, the Arab Monetary fund and a range f banks and regulators globally. Throughout, he has championed blockchain not as a speculative tool but as a framework for compliance, clean asset provenance, and chain-agnostic interoperability.

“The future of finance depends on regulatory certainty,” Prescott says. “Zekret provides the infrastructure where identity, compliance, and asset integrity are built into the system. It is the right tool at the right time for institutions that want to innovate within the law.”

The Protocol will be complemented by Zekret Labs, the commercial arm of the ecosystem. Zekret Labs provides the underlying technology and infrastructure that make regulated decentralized finance possible. Its offerings include Layer 3 compliance rails, institutional-grade node and validator operations, and turnkey “Regulation-as-a-Service” for enterprises and funds. Zekret Labs also develops the wallet and onboarding suite that powers identity verification and custody, ensuring seamless access for institutional participants.

With Prescott at the helm, the Entry Protocol will focus on building trusted relationships with banks, regulators, and institutional partners. The Protocol’s launch signals a new chapter for decentralized finance, one designed for systemic adoption rather than experimentation.
