Zest Protocol news today centers on Binance competition. The biggest centralized exchange just launched a $200K $ZEST trading competition on its Alpha platform, and the token price already jumped in response.
Binance Wallet opened the $ZEST Trading Competition on Binance Alpha, with $200K in rewards up for grabs. Anyone can join by clicking the event page inside the Binance App, and only buy volume counts toward tracking, since selling trades get excluded.

Zest Protocol runs as a Bitcoin-native lending and borrowing platform. It lets BTC holders earn yield or borrow against their BTC without moving assets off the Bitcoin network or its Layer 2 blockchain partner Stacks.
The team has built the protocol from around 2020 to 2022, making it one of the longer-running projects in Bitcoin DeFi. It has processed over 1,500 liquidations with zero bad debt and once held peak total value locked above $100 million.
$ZEST is the native token of the platforml, the leading Bitcoin lending protocol and now expanding to Bitcoin L1 with Bitcoin Collateral Vaults. Its utility scales with the protocol itself, and the team has kept the focus on execution over premature feature launches.
Native token behind the lending and borrowing infrastructure
Trades in spot and perpetual pairs across CEXs and DEXs
Live across multiple chains: BNB Chain, Stacks, Ethereum, and Base
Staking and governance stay inactive for now, pending sufficient protocol scale
$ZEST holds a fixed total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Community incentives take the largest share at 27.83%, followed by Ecosystem Development at 24.82%, Investors at 22.35%, and the Team at 25%.

Built for long-term sustainability. Long-term growth is the core principle behind $ZEST's design, reflected in how each allocation vests:
Community allocation (the largest share): covers initial and future airdrops plus liquidity incentives and ecosystem building.
Ecosystem Development: 14.5% of total supply unlocks at TGE, with the remainder vesting linearly over 12 months.
Team and Investors: one-year lock, followed by three-year linear vesting to keep incentives aligned.
ZEST trades at $0.228 as of the latest data, up 1.86% over 24 hours. Market cap sits at $33 million, while unlocked market cap runs higher at $48.51 million.

24-hour volume: $6.69 million, down 65.68%
Fully diluted valuation (FDV): $226.33 million

The Zest lending market on Stacks, live since March 2024 and proven under real conditions. It has achieved 1,500+ liquidations executed, $100M+ peak TVL, 800+ sBTC deposited, as per platform’s dashboard data.
Along with that, the team plans to launch Bitcoin Collateral Vaults in late 2026. BTC Collateral Vaults, announced at the Draper Summit in May 2026, aim to let holders borrow directly against BTC on the Bitcoin base layer, without wrapping tokens or using bridges.
In other words, iIt is a lending market where BTC stays locked on $BTC itself. Stablecoins are borrowed on EVM chains against that BTC, no wrapped BTC, no bridge, no custodian, no rehypothecation.
The current Binance push adds short-term visibility, but the bigger test sits ahead with that Layer 1 expansion. Zest still carries typical DeFi risks like smart contract exploits and volatility, even with its zero bad debt track record so far.
The next few days decide how much the trading competition actually moves ZEST's price beyond the promotion window. Longer term, the real signal to watch stays the Bitcoin Collateral Vaults rollout, since that decides whether Zest turns early hype into lasting Bitcoin DeFi demand.
